Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SlovakiaThe only inconvenience: Our room Rausing was directly neighboring with (I'd say) kindergarten. Be ready for kids' jabber from about 7:20 AM. Maybe you can try earplugs which are free to take in the dining room. Or maybe try to close the windows for the night. Hopefully the AC will do its job well.
Check-in and check-out so smooth. Everything fully automated, I like keyless system. Kitchen well equipped. All clean. Sufficient number of toilets, showers. Great location. Recommend.

DenmarkI was not informed that my room would be windowless before arriving. I probably would not have gotten it if I knew. It was hot and stuffy, and my friend may have gotten me sick because of the lack of airflow in the room.
The hostel was very clean and staff were friendly. The location was great as well.

Centrally located hostel, near Lund Central Station. No reception, but check-in with codes worked fine. Rooms are good, with windows you can open for fresh air. Common room with kitchen, however almost nobody there.

CanadaBecause there was no staff at the hostel it sometimes felt a little sterile. Things seemed a bit "too" quiet but I suppose that is more a reflection of the guests who are there. Myself included 😉. Some in person staff might make chatting about what you want to do in the city easier. But these are both fairly minor critiques.
The hostel was perfectly located and super clean. It has everything you could want from a hostel: loads of bathrooms, an orderly kitchen, private bunks, and a good location! The online system worked smoothly too.

FranceNot a fan of not having staff around. Didn't like having to walk through the common rooms to the bathrooms, and they are kind of far from the bedrooms. They were also not separated by gender. Extremely noisy doors - it's impossible to open/close them quietly which is terrible for dorm rooms. The mattresses were not the most comfortable. Everything was generally very clean BUT deep cleaning is lacking - there was dust on top of the lockers, and dirt and hair under the mattresses.
Location was amazing - near the station, quiet streets, right in the centre. Bathrooms were clean and the showers were great. There were curtains, lights and outlets for each bed. There were lockers in the room. It was nice to be able to leave the luggage after checkout (although there's no staff so it's at your own risk).

Kitchen is WELL equipped, two big refrigerators, high speed WI-FI, clean bathrooms, individual lockers, nice dining area. Best deal for the money in heart of Lund. I have been in hostels all around the world and Winstrup so far is top 3. Will stay there next time when i am around. Highly recommended

North MacedoniaFound a fly lurking in my bed that I mistook for bed bugs. Not the fault of the owner though, it probably just snuck in somehow. I also wished towels were more easily accessible instead of having to call staff, but this is not a huge concern in the end.
The bed and room was clean. It was warm too, considering I went in January. Shower facilities and restrooms were clean. So were the utensils, and cups in the kitchen. Overall very well maintained and comfortable all for a good price too.

NorwayRoom mates have zero respect for fellow sleepers. Almost whole night one of them making noise by in and out of the room many times. Opening closing luggage door constantly. I don’t know what he or they were doing but bad experience.
