Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesOur room was quite hot. We didn't necessarily need AC (which I don't think was an option) but the window only opened a crack so it didn't help much. There was a small tabletop fan to use and that helped.
Breakfast was decent and there was an afternoon/evening waffle bar that was a delightful surprise. Cool old building, the room was small but we were only there for one night so it suited us.

United KingdomThere was a little noise from the street which would probably bother me if I was staying longer. I would like to try a room at the back of the hotel next time. I won't book anywhere else now unless I have to, it ticked all the important boxes for me.
Location is hard to beat, the staff have a can-do attitude, always willing to help which creates a really laid back friendly atmosphere in the hotel. I also liked the free tea and coffee as well as the waffle station. That's a huge plus and a really nice touch. The dining area and the upper seating area or outdoor courtyard were also good areas to work or sit. My room was a little dates but impeccably clean and I personally like the older feel to this hotel. It's an old building and it has kept its integrity… real keys to open the doors etc and worn stone steps, which I think adds to its charm. Overall if you are a seasoned traveller looking for a budget friendly option in town that's well located and easy, this is your place. If its a fresh modern sterile look that's your thing, I reckon its not for you. I would also like to add that both check out and check in were seamless, with no waiting around, or unnecessary hinder. It was an easy and comfortable stay from start to finish .

Perfect location, friendly staff (fulfilled our wish of a quite room), simple but clean. Nice bonus of available waffles during the day. Breakfast buffet had even veggie cheese, glutenfri bread and plant milk. Cosy small yard if weather is nice.

Excellent location, more than worth the money. Very nice breakfast (please beware local milk types to choose the right one for your coffee though). Soft drinks 24 hours, and waffles in the afternoon were a lifesaver. Personnel always helpful and super friendly
