Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe facilities need some replacement/refurbishment e.g. pillows & bedding, sink drains need clearing, towelrail electrics, cracked stairs etc. Due to the age of the property, the ensuite shower is very small with a nylon curtain around and really needs a redesign. Steep spiral staircase up to rooms making it unsuitable for anyone with poor mobility or bad knees/legs.
Great location in Gamla Stan (the old town) and between 2 of the main streets for restaurants and shops. Hotel in old building (1607) with lots of character. Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.

United StatesBeds are too soft, and only one pillow (and very small) available. I guess I should have asked for one more the second night, but maybe should be available from the get go? Bathroom is terrible, when you shower everything gets wet. Very old building (which makes the place quaint and interesting), so everything is narrow and tight?
Location is unbeatable, and staff is the nicest. Breakfast was great.

United StatesWe managed the stairs but might be tough for older people. However the staff will always be ready to help.
Excellent location and very clean. Staffs were very friendly and made our stay comfortable. Close to a lot of tourist attractions, shopping and restaurants. 3 minutes walking distance from the Royal Palace. Breakfast is very good too.

United StatesThere was a bit of outside noise due to location in old town. Early morning garbage collection and leaf blowing.
Unique small property in a super location in the old town. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Very comfortable , spacious room. Great breakfast!

United KingdomStairs if you're on the top floor, somewhat challenging if you have large cases. We did know this however beforehand. And also, quite pricey, mainly due to the location. Nightlife noise also, but again, to be expected.
Location. Perfect for old town. Walk out the door, and you are straight into the centre of the shops and restaurants.

NorwayNothing. Stay exactly like this, be original.
If you have been to a million dull hotels, pick this one. It’s like living in a museum, it has character, and I simply love the pragmatism and trust in how they manage access. Bed & bathroom adds fine comfort to the old but well-kept rooms, I slept like a child. The sound insulation between floors is 1600s style, so you might hear neighbours walking above you, but in a hotel this tiny people are considerate. Location perfect, but not if you have difficulties moving or bring lots of heavy luggage. When I come back I’ll stay here and laugh at Sheraton across the bridge, an over-priced mausoleum.

United StatesNote that the spiral stairs are narrow and steep due to the nature of the historic building.
Location is wonderful, right in the heart old city on a lovely narrow street. Exudes a wonderful sense of history. Very quiet with our windows closed, even though the streets are busy in the summer with outdoor dining and strolling.

United KingdomNothing wrong at all.
Right in the heart of Gamla Stan the old town. Walkable to many locations and the metro and ferry. The host was amazing. Very helpful and friendly. Nice for a chat. Very tasty and varied breakfast. The breakfast room can be used by guest throughout the day and there are drinks, fruit and pastries available. Waking up to the smell of bread and cake baking downstairs just wonderful. Just one thing to consider if you have mobility issues like me to ask for a room on the first floor. As this is an old building there is no lift and a winding staircase with old steps. I managed, but should have thought about this before. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable.

GermanyAs many before have written: the stairs are challenging, but hey, the house is from the 17th century, so what do you expect? Of course you hear some noise when you are in the middle of the Old Town, I slept well all the same. Only point of complaint: the bathroom door was somewhat difficult to close.
Very charming hotel in exceptionally good location. Within walking distance you can reach many points of interest like royal castle, heart of Gamla Stan, Riddarholmen, shopping areas, for all the rest you have an underground stop within 200 m. Very friendly staff - my friend has a gluten allergy, so for the next morning the nice lady from breakfast supplied her with gluten free bread and Muesli. The room was cozy and the beds very comfy. Bathroom: the shower being only secured with a curtain, I was afraid all would be completely wet after showering, but it worked out fine. All in all: no complaints.

SwedenThe hotel was unmanned for my stay, which happened to be from noon to morning. Breakfast was not until 8, which was a little late for me.
Quaint and quirky ancient building, very charming and memorable. Climbing old stairs was required, so perhaps not for everyone.

LithuaniaNot exactly a minus, but breakfast could use a slight more variety as it's exactly the same every morning. Nonetheless, it was in fact traditional swedish breakfast as far as i'm aware and everything was delicious so we weren't disappointed or something.
Location is great: in the heart of Gamla Stan, metro stop is very near however you can easily walk everywhere as well. Room quite small, but super cosy, scandi style, minimalistic. Staff was lovely, very friendly and accomodating. Bonus was to be awoken every morning by the smell of freshly baked croissants! :)

United StatesI didn’t love how cramped the bathroom was, but not the end of the world. You could definitely hear everything going on outside, but they provided ear plugs. I only stayed one night, I think if I had stayed longer these things may have bothered me.
The property was the perfect location, very close to the train station, all the sites, and shops. The staff was really nice and welcoming, let me into my room to change since I was coming off a red eye even though the room wasn’t fully cleaned yet. They also took my luggage to my room
