Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe showers were communal, separated only by a curtain with a hook on the outside of the stall
The commercial kitchen was a great space. The hotel is located near a trendy suburb but a quite a bit of a walk away from central station and old town. Rooms were clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.

LatviaPerfect place! It combined the best parts of a hostel and a hotel - a welcoming staff and reception, luggage storage, a private room (with 4 beds just for myself, which I had missed upon booking - they don't rent just beds anymore), clean shower area, spacious guest kitchen + dinning hall + lounge for the hostel guests. And during breakfast you can choose if you wish to: a) cook for yourself at the guest kitchen b) buy the hostel breakfast c) spoil yourself and buy the hotel breakfast - which is an upgraded version of the hostel breakfast. The location was perfect - on one of the islands, walking distance from the Old Town, 1 hour (walking) from Tivoli (or 30 min by public transport). It is close to the main street, but some 100 meters on the side, surrounded by tiny gardens and a park, so it's peaceful. For the first time in a long time I didn't need to use earplugs during the night, and that says a lot. If I ever come back to Stockholm, I'll stay here again.

Czech RepublicI must have missed it or forgotten about it since making the reservation but I really didn't expect nor appreciated that when I arrived at 3am after travelling the whole day, I had to pay 70 SEK extra for my bed linen and make my own bed. This fee didn't even include a towel (or at least the receptionist didn't give me one). There was literally only one, very well hidden, electric plug in the whole room. They ask guests to recycle but provide just one trash bin in the room.
Really cute houses in a beautiful location. My room was super basic but OK for one night. The staff was super friendly. 24/7 reception was much appreciated. Sufficient capacity of shared bathrooms and toilets. Everything was clean and breakfast was available.

PortugalI didn’t like the fact you need to rent your sheets and do yourself the bed. But the sheets were really comfortable and smelled good! We bought the breakfast at 10h15 at the reception. The receptionist was extremely nice and allowed us to compare the hostel and hotel breakfast before we buy it. We ended up buying the hostel breakfast, which looked good. When we started to get food and coffee (10h20), the waiter started to remove everything without even letting us know it was about to close. Only when I asked if she was removing everything (10h25) she answered in her non existing English only “closed!”. I tried to tell her that no one told us about the finish hours but she was just rude and kept on saying “closed” and taking everything away.
The property was super cosy and clean. The shared areas were comfortable.

Incredibly affordable, impeccably clean with a delightful staff. Really appreciated the guest kitchen. Spotlessly clean and a delight to prepare meals in. Perfectl location. In the city center but surrounded by peace and nature. Last but not least, there is a sauna available to have all to yourself for a very small fee. Many thanks for a brillant stay in Stockholm!

EstoniaAir is a bit too dry, would be great if there was an air humidifier. I usually visit hostels when travelling and the following never happened to me: you gotta pay for towels and bed sheets. Prices for that are average of a meal in Stockholm. So be prepared to pay some more for that.
The location is like a fantasy place, very cool and quiet. Staff is very friendly.

SlovakiaYou either need to bring your own bedsheets or pay for them on the spot and then put them on yourself. This is actually present in the "small print" part of the hotel page on Booking and I read it in the reviews so it didn't come as a surprise but... It is ABSURD. Especially that the hotel rooms look like kind of nice, you know? It is cozy and pretty stylish in its little romantic rustic way and... Having to dress your own bedding into linen (that is cheap, it has the corners cut out and you cannot close the end with pins or buttons...) is just absurd. Of course, doing this is not beyond me, as I do it all the time at home but on a holiday I'd prefer not to. If we were guests of the hostel part in a hostel room I'd be more understanding but why do this to the hotel guests who paid for a nice room? I don't really understand why they want to get my extra €10-20 this much. Of course all the people coming in with public transport will NOT have their own sheets with themselves, that's nonsense. We didn't go to a camping bungalow.
A very cute, rustic elegant style hotel. The staff was super nice and the €9 breakfast was filling and had many options, even if a bit pricy - but you won't get anything cheaper nearby. You can get to the metro (tunnelbanan) Zinkensdamm with 10 min walking max but we literally walked all the way to the old town. It is located in a great residential area with lots of greenery so we really enjoyed walking around.
