Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room itself was quite small and tired, with scuffed paintwork due to the limited space between the bottom of the bed and the wall. That said, you don't spend the majority of your time there, so it was big enough. The shower had very good water pressure and was a good size. The biggest complaint was there was no tea or coffee facilities in the room (although these were available in reception) nor was there a fridge for your own bottles of water. Overall no regrets about staying here, but there were areas for improvement from the hotel.
Fabulous location and very comfortable bed! The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide choice of, mainly, cold food although there was hot bacon and scrambled eggs. There was a separate vegan and gluten free station with a wide selection of alternative milks available for anyone to have. There is a rooftop area you can sit on, although they missed a trick by not having a bar up there! Gamla Stan is a great place to stay, loads of history right on your doorstep and convenient for exploring further afield. The hotel is about 90 seconds from the metro station and there are dozens of good restaurants and bars within 5 minutes

United StatesSee above. The room was quite small and there was very little storage so we lived out of our suitcases. If the weather had been rainy it would have felt a bit cramped. Only one chair, a desk chair. However, it was fine for 4 nights, for the price.
Location was good, but the area clearly for tourists. The sense of an old neighborhood is absent. I believe a lot of the buildings are now office space, especially upper floors. The rest are to support the tourists. But there’s still a lot of charm. We liked the bedside lighting so one could actually read a book in bed. That seems rare these days.

AustraliaRooms are a little on the smaller side, but fine. Performing laundry was super expensive (but this is probably a third party cost, not the hotel).
Great location, right in the heart of old town. Fantastic staff, always very helpful and the chef was absolutely wonderful - definitely a highlight of the stay! Breakfast was outstanding.

United StatesNot a good choice if you plan a stay of more than two days and want to unpack. Room very small which is ok if there are shelves or drawers but not the case here. Closet tiny. We travel with just carry on bags but no room for even those. Maybe we chose the least expensive Booking.com option, but beware.
Location superb. Nice staff, ok breakfast. Gamla Stan is certainly touristy but we are tourists!!!

United StatesThe rooms were a bit small. The shower was a bit tricky as it was only a half door, so the floor got very wet every time I showered. The beds were extremely soft.
The breakfast was amazing! Anything you would want was available. It was a scheduled breakfast time which was kind of a bummer, but it worked out ok.

United KingdomNothing really. The hotel was as it presented itself.
This is a simply presented hotel in a great location in the old town. Whilst it looked a bit bland from the outside it had character and the room was comfortable and well equipped. We had a standard room and the bathroom was quite small, but manageable with a good shower. The hotel put on a very well presented breakfast buffet. Whilst there is no bar or restaurant it is right in the middle of an area with plenty of options. The reception staff were cheerful, helpful and efficient. One nice feature of the hotel is a roof terrace - a good place to take a coffee and enjoy the Swedish sun. It was very well located for getting around Stockholm, either on foot or via the nearby metro station and the excellent public transport system.
