Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hotel is in a great location, in the Old town close to many restaurants and the Metro station. Breakfast was excellent.

AustraliaGuests should be aware that taxis can only park near the hotel at certain times of the day. You need to factor this in to your plans because you might be required to drag your suitcases along the cobblestone streets to meet the taxi next to the train station. In my situation, the taxi didn't arrive at the entrance to the station, which was my understanding, so after waiting for some time in the windy conditions, I dragged my suitcases back to the hotel to report this, then back again to the station for the taxi. All annoying and difficult for an older woman. This situation can be avoided if you leave within the prescribed time the taxis have to enter the street or catch the train.
The breakfast was excellent with a variety of hot and cold dishes. I requested porridge a couple of times, which the chef happily prepared for me. The breakfast room was cosy, comfortable and clean.My room was tastefully decorated, the bed comfortable although it was a tight squeeze getting to the other side. Could be more difficult if there are 2 people. The location of the hotel couldn't be in a more convenient place but in a quiet street away from big foot traffic and various noise. Reception was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay at the Gamla Stan and I recommend it highly.

United StatesStaff was helpful but perhaps a bit overworked or overwhelmed. Breakfast was pretty good but even with reserved times tables it was too crowded. My room was pretty small.
The hotel is within walking distance of trains and boats as well as many major tourist attractions and shopping areas in Gamla Stan. Gamla Stan is expensive so it was a good value for the area. I found my bed very comfortable.
