Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

SwedenPerfect place with, or without dog! Near the sea, bus outside or 15 min walk to city center. Spacious rooms, comfy beds, big bathrooms, coffee/tea, iron and board. Good breakfast with variations, refills all the time. Decaffeinate coffee. Garage in the building access from elevator. Close to food shop and restaurants. Helpful and nice staff in all departement of the hotel!

The hotel was in a very good location with bus stops for each direction right outside. This bus took us close to our daughter's home in Ribersborg. Also very good breakfast with wide range of choices. We appreciated having an accessible room.

FinlandI paid for 2 rooms when I checked into the hotel and the receptionist told me that I can ask for a receipt for the payment when I leave. When we left in the morning, the receptionist on duty couldn't print a receipt for me for some reason. Later that day I noticed that the hotel had charged one room again. Also, on the same day, I noticed that the hotel had returned the money, but the returned amount was €16 less than the charged amount. Despite my request, the hotel has not delivered a receipt or payment difference.

GermanyThe hotel is not in the city center, but only a short walk away from the sea and beautiful sunsets. A bike station is nearby, which makes it very easy to get to the center of town. Breakfast was fantastic (no Cappucino though, but this seems common in Sweden).

FinlandThe air quality in the room wasn’t great, it was warm and kind of humid. Breakfast is a bit of a hit and miss, bread was great but for example the scrambled eggs were below expectation for a hotel in Sweden.
The location was great for me, and I appreciated the bikes that were available for rent.

GermanyOn one night, in the room besides mine a group of young adults decided they wanted to “party” the whole night. Despite my complaints and the staff even talking to my room neighbors in the night, unfortunately it wasn’t enough for them to stop talking and laughing the whole night. I wish the staff offered me a new room.
They have a good breakfast. The room was clean. Easy to reach by bus.

PolandWe received a different room than the one booked. I specifically chose a double room on the booking site, and on the spot it turned out that it was a twin with joined beds. The lady at the reception said that everything was already sold out and double room is only on special prior request. She agreed with me that it is stupid and nonsensical, since in the booking.com there is a choice between double and twin and nowhere is there information that such a request must be made. However, she did nothing to change this, one night cost 2500 SEK during the Eurovision period, I did not receive any compensation.
Very good breakfasts with a large selection. Good location, close to the main train station. Well-equipped room (hair dryer, iron, toiletries, safe, refrigerator, tv).
