Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsNo airconditioning. Room and bathroom are basic. Guest rooms are in an ancillary building, not in the nice and authentic main building.
Good location. Good restaurant both for breakfast and dinner. Love the ‘spa’ + bathing & swimming building.

SwedenThe extra fee to the SPA/bath area was unnecessary.
The breakfast was very nice. Excellent dinner with great staff. The separate SPA/seaside bath was great with a lot of amenities, different saunas, steam room and various swimming pools (in- and outdoor) all with great sea views.

SwedenHad to pay an extra almost 1000sek for the use of the spa facilities. This is not clear when booking with Booking.com. The prior communication with the staff was terrible. I think they are not happy about receiving booking.com bookings as they were not helpful in answering questions. The spa was fully booked our arrival day. Now seriously why is this not included as why else would you be booking a spa hotel. You really need to make this clear Booking.com and please the Hotel staff explain how the spa works to your Booking customers
The baths are very nice and a beautiful location. For the price the rooms are OK but it's not a super luxury experience for the room prices.

United KingdomI was saying midweek when the hotel was being used as a conference venue. I had booked an evening meal in the restaurant but was only informed when I sat down to eat that there was a 'conference menu' with only one option available plus a vegetarian choice. The meal itself was disappointing and not value for money. Secondly, the conference attendees use the (beautiful) spa facilities which makes it not such a relaxing experience. On the days that I stayed at the hotel they piled in to the hot tub, were drinking and were very loud. Despite this I felt my stay was good value for money.
Hotel is in a beautiful location with plenty of opportunities for swimming and walking around the island and beyond. Despite scaffolding being up due to renovations, the hotel was clean and pleasant, and my room in the separate badhushotelet was very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times.

SwitzerlandDidn’t like that you have to pay extra for the spa per day and per person. Also, in the morning, the outside chairs in the spa were bit dirty. Breakfast was basic.
Loved the spa area, although not super big we relaxed a lot and enjoyed the pools, sauna and sea. Excellent dinner in the restaurant and great staff at reception and restaurant. Room was clean, big and comfy. We arrived by car - convenient parking.

GermanyYou need to pay an extra fee for pets which is okay for me in general. Unfortunately it was not communicated in any way before. I wrote an Email to the Hotel myself to tell them I am coming with a dog (you cannot add a pet to the booking) and this is when they told me they will move me to another room and that there is a fee. Pets are also not allowed in the breakfast room, but I think this was my mistake because this is quite usual in Sweden whereas it´s common in Germany to bring the dog everywhere. BUT considering the price of the hotel it would have been great to maybe have a note or information about this before hand or a little separate space in the restaurant that is not outside in the rain so you can bring pets to the breakfast. The first day I had breakfast outside and the second day the woman who worked there was really really sweet as she guided my dog to the room while I carried my breakfast. Many thanks that was really sweet! Altogether it would have been great to have a little water boiler in the room since (except the hotel restaurant) there is no cafe or restaurant nearby. So the points are not really bad, just some more info on these topics would do.
The room and the surrounding was great! I could just go out of the door and have long walks with my dog. That was definitely great! The room was very clean and cozy. The breakfast was not perfect but pretty good though.

NorwayMy one singular complaint is the lack of screen/netting windows so you can keep the windows open for some air without being invaded by spiders and flies. Would be cheaper for the hotel than installing airconditioning and comfort would increase tenfold. I like the environmental friendlyness (not disturbing the bugs’ habitat), but the rooms can get REALLY bad.
Perfect location, quiet, pleasant environment, friendly staff, lovely spa/pool(s), standard but really good breakfast (with the exception of some mouldy avocados one morning, but avocados are volatile at best).

We loved swimming in the sea. A bit cold (19C) doesn't matter as you can warm up in the the lovely saunas and the warm pool. It's got an awesome Stockholm archipelago feeling and view, and even a family of merganser birds (skrake). We loved the gym and the restaurant was nice. Great breakfast too!

SwedenWi-Fi is not really working, I had a really hard time connecting and constantly reconnecting my devices. Can't say it's a big issue but there is no AC in the room, so it can be a bit stuffy.
Great location, really friendly and helpful staff! The room was clean and fresh. Amazing SPA zone, btw there was a renovation recently done in the SPA zone which makes it look and feel even better.

SwedenOnly some minor things: there was some hair, a few strands, on my bed (the pillow and the side of the bed) and there were no slippers in the bathroom. There was also no tea in the room. As someone who needs their bed tea, not getting the caffeine boost till the breakfast buffet was a long wait.
The location was absolutely breathtaking. The staff was very courteous and professional. Food was fine but on the pricey side. Check-in and check-out were seamless. Lots of plus points.
