Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United KingdomOur room had windows looking over the front of the hotel where people using the hotel bar would go and stand until all hours as that was the designated smoking area.
Hotel has great public transport links and plenty of facilities. Breakfast was good and there was plenty of everything. The beds were comfortable even if the room was on the small side.

Costa RicaThis hotel is rather away from downtown but the Metro station is just 3 blocks away, so it is very easy to move around. There are many stores, restaurants and pharmacies near by. The hotel is very nice and the rooms, even though are small, are really comfortable. The customer service is amazing.

FinlandThe hotel felt old as a whole while some items of furniture were nice and newish. Also, at first we didn't get a proper full bed but two twins pushed together. The reception thankfully quickly changed our room. We traveled with a dog which costs 250kr and for that price we would have appreciated a bag of treats (however one staff member did give us a few in the lobby which was really nice!).
The breakfast and location are the best parts of this hotel which are both really good. The bed was also comfortable and the room was big.

Right in city centre, close to tourist attractions. Rooms are ok for the location. Have to especially mention the Excellent checkin service provided by Mr. Joel at front desk. When my name did not show in the booking, he tried reversing First name / Last name. That worked. He was very resourceful. Mr. Joel also was very helpful and knowledgeable about all things a guest should know. Pointed out the two building layout of the hotel, location of breakfast room, all-day coffee services, gym and sauna. He also outlined key resources useful to guests right in the areas surrounding the Kom hotel. Wifi password also was provided without asking. At several hotels, to extract all that information, you the guest, have to keep asking, asking...

EstoniaMy room was advertised as having a refrigerator. There was no refrigerator. As it was only a short stay, I did not need a refrigerator, so I did not ask for another room, but the hotel should really review the room description and ensure that the offered room matches it. The breakfast room was crowded, I could barely find a place to sit down, I also saw some people waiting for a seat. One strange thing for a modest hotel like this was a soundbar under the TV on the wall. The problem was that the soundbar did not work with the TV, so you could only hear the small low quality TV speakers.
The hotel is situated on a quiet street. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet selection was great and constantly replenished by helpful staff.
