Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBreakfast was underwhelming, very busy and noisy. Some of the serving personnel did not understand English very well, which is unusual for Stockholm. The hotel staff that was there was lovely but they clearly had an issue with lack of staff which I hope was temporary. My son was not well overnight and unfortunately vomited, it turned out that there was only one person on the night shift and she was struggling to find cleaning supplies. We ended up both doing the cleanup, there was no option to change rooms as I think the hotel was at capacity.
Great rooms and beautiful location, close to take boat to central Stockholm. The bar, lounge area and outside patio was great for a coffee in the morning and glass of wine in the evening.

HungaryI cannot mention negative point.
Location is amazing: near the sea and with SL boat the main points of city could be reached easily. Scandinavian design of rooms is friendly. The smell of rooms is determined by wood furniture and floor. The breakfast gives rich opportunity for choice for everyone.

United KingdomThe hotel is in a residential suburb on the edge of the archipelago - there’s not much else there apart from the hotel facilities.
Comfortable, relaxed feel, helpful staff. Attractive location across several buildings. Travelling by ferry was fun - if you are already in Stockholm the easiest way to get to the hotel is SL ferry no 80 which leaves from the terminal nearest Nybroplan

NetherlandsThe breakfast was really disappointing. Half our group skipped breakfast after the first morning (we stayed for a week). This is the main reason why we would debate staying again, but everything else was great.
Rooms were perfectly proportioned. We had one executive double, one family room and one junior suite. All were great for the family members who stayed in them. Wonderful sea views from all rooms. Very quiet location in the green and on the water's edge, extremely restful, but close enough to the ferry taxi to get into Stockholm within 25 minutes, and we also had our cars. Nice to be away from the bustle of Stockholm, but close enough to explore. Housekeeping staff were excellent.

AustraliaThere was renovation in progress so floor sanding could be heard from 9 to 5. The up side is that the whole place is nearly renovated. There was a lot of furniture that wasn’t much use. Somewhere, other than the floor, to put your bags, would have helped eg. a folding baggage rack. Also, Sweden is very expensive. Our meal one night at the Hotel J restaurant was a brioche bun with some seafood, a burger, one glass of wine and a brownie with ice-cream costing $130 AUD equivalent!
Serene, pretty and pleasant. We were on the third floor with a partial sea view.. The whole place is beautifully thought-through. Calm greys, natural wooden floors, fluffy robes and towels, good showers, very good beds, coffee machine. Breakfast is outstanding and located in a lovely old Victorian style house. The main restaurant is down on the water where the ferries come in. There is beautiful food which can be enjoyed while watching all the movement on the waterways. For us the 20 minute ferry trip to the city centre was perfect as there was no city noise at Hotel J. We were there 3 nights so used the ferries to go to the old town “Gamla Stan” and to see the incredible Vasa warship. Restaurants and bars are everywhere and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. It’s worth noting you can only use one credit/debit card for one ticket/journey. We could not buy 2 adult fares on our Wise card. This is something the locals find very irritating as well!

We loved that it was tucked into the hill with excellent views. The staff were very helpful and friendly. we were fortunate to have a room right on the top floor. It was really special having lovely chairs to sit outside and look at the sunset. The beautiful old historic building was fantastic for breakfast and the breakfast was terrific. Lots of choices and presented beautifully. Having the ferry so close was such a great asset and we used it extensively. The restaurants nearby and the food shops were also great.

GermanyThe communication of the staff was sometimes a bit lacky. There was a little bit of confusion during the check in and then our cards did not work. It seemed everything was in a rush and there was not the customer orientation to get this right from the beginning. Additionally to this the check in was too rushed since we were not given a proper explanation of the facilities and had to ask for the sauna ourselves, while the sauna could have been more clean. Another case was during breakfast when we had a booked slot and then we were placed at the basement where the breakfast ended 15 minutes later. This could have been timed more customer friendly.
Location, rooms and breakfast were very nice and we had an enjoyable stay

Its a designated space of nature, a resort, which we really fell in love with, ❤️ has a customised design of operations , location has its own sanity. The place is because of the people who are running it each day, they are the reflect of the unfolding rich swedish culture, which is mesmerising. Whether you speak to the young loving team at the breakfast or the ones at the check in desk, who greet you with a smile and are always ready to go an extra mile to help, makes such a huge difference to the expected comfort , we look for , away from home . I can say much about J , the flora and fauna, the sunrise and the setting sun overlooking the Batic back waters, is picturiqe, with blend of fresh breeze, the fragrance of elderflower, gives a sense of tranquility . We would love ❤️ to come back . Prof Dr Piyush Goel
