Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

MacaoThere is no elevator in the building that our room was located. Room number was 3rd floor (but actually is 4th floor, it named the first floor as 0 floor), after staying for one night, we found we cannot bear the stairs and requested to change the room. Staff changed our room to basement 1st floor. Rooms there were smaller, but overall it's better than to claim up stairs everyday.
Room is clean, very near to subway station and central of the city. There is not much choice for breakfast, but it's ok just to have a free breakfast in the morning ^~^

United StatesRoom, especially the rug, did not seem clean (older rug?). Having no elevator was a bit taxing after a long day of walking. No full shower door is uncomfortable as water splashes all over the floor which we then need to address with our towels. Small sink.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable; breakfast had nice variety of offerings. Location was ok relative to walking distance to main train station; interesting walk to Old Town. There were many good, convenient restaurants along this walk.

Using the shower in our room, water went all over bathroom floor but didn't drain back to the shower..we had to use a towel to push the water back to the plug hole! Woken up on Monday morning at 6.30am with builders on building opposite.
Clean room, good breakfast variety, helpful and friendly staff, perfect location for us watching our son in the stockholm marathon that weekend. Very close to main town centre, shops and not too far from old town which was full of character.

NetherlandsSome small improvements can be made. The shower: it was difficult for me to get the water to turn warm. I turned the knob back and forth but it felt like cracking a code as there was no blue/red or number of degrees on the knob. And the whole bathroom floor became wet in the meanwhile :) Maybe some instructions and a threshold? Breakfast was fine but could be improved with for example some fresh fruit (or did I miss that), a coffee beans machine (instead of filter). But on a budget this was fine and happy to have had breakfast in the first place. Croissants and marmelade were tasty.
I booked an economy room, so as I expected it was basic but fine. Good price-quality ratio. The room was clean, staff was friendly, check-in instructions clear, and it was close to the railway station. Bed was fine for me.

BelgiumThe window was quite small because we were underground. Therefore the room was a little bit dark.
It was a very good location. It was very easy to reach from the airport and we felt save walking around the neighbourhood. The room was not the biggest, but it was okay because it was just for sleeping. It was also very clean. I would stay here again!
