Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BulgariaVila Camelia in Sinaia, Romania, is a truly charming and memorable place to stay, offering a delightful mix of history, comfort, and stunning mountain scenery. The villa’s classic architecture and vintage decor add an old-world charm that makes guests feel like they've stepped back in time. Spacious rooms with lovely views of the Carpathian Mountains make it a peaceful and relaxing retreat. The garden areas are particularly inviting, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or unwinding in the fresh air with the sound of nature all around. However, it’s worth noting that morning coffee is only available after 8:00 AM, which may be a slight inconvenience for early risers. While we thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and unique character of Vila Camelia, there were a few small areas for improvement. The staff, though professional, could have been a bit more warm and welcoming, which would add an even more personal touch to the experience. We did encounter occasional hot water issues, which were a minor inconvenience but didn't affect our stay too much. The breakfast, while the same each day, is still varied enough to offer something for every taste, with a good range of options that make mornings enjoyable. However, we noticed a few minor cleanliness and maintenance details. One morning, we found a dirty fork at breakfast, which suggested a need for a bit more attention to detail in the dining area. Additionally, the bathroom door in our room had a small crack and didn’t lock fully, which affected privacy slightly. Overall, Vila Camelia is a unique and charming place that offers guests a tranquil escape into nature and history. With a little extra attention to detail, it could be even better, but it’s still a wonderful spot to experience Sinaia’s beauty and peaceful atmosphere.

SloveniaMaybe some renovation wouldn't hurt ...at least soft one.
We got the appartment and it was really huge and comfy, even though a little bit outdated with broken door, but we had our own parking spot and lots of privacy, including 2 bathrooms.

IsraelFor the first night we got a 2-bedroom apartment which is a separate hut outside of the main building. It was outdated and not comfortable. For the second night we got a much better family room we liked a lot.
The stuff is really nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is delicious. We asked to change our room and the staff found us a much better room for the next day.

United StatesSome of the room facilities are a bit dated but that is to be expected.
Lovely historic hotel within walking distance to the train station and many of the sites in Sinaia. Bus stops and taxis are also nearby (good option for those who don’t want to traverse the town’s many hills and stairs). Daily breakfast was delicious and offered a variety of hot and cold items. Room was comfortable and staff was helpful, especially when assisting with scheduling a taxi for a day trip and luggage storage.

IsraelWe did find the beds to be too much on the harder side of the spectrum. But I guess it's a matter of personal preferences.
We stayed for one night in the apartment. We could park the car just outside the room and everything was just fine, we also enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the restaurant both of which were excellent. One thing to note is that Vila Camelia is an old house and the decor and atmosphere are as you would expect from such a place.

United KingdomThere was no plug in bath or sink. The bath had a showerhead on the wall above it, but there was no shower curtain, so we had to use it as a handheld unit, to prevent water from going on the floor. We were only there for two nights, so not a problem for us, but not the easiest way to shower.
We booked this hotel, because it seemed to have an old world charm. In reality, it looked just like the photos online and we were not disappointed. We had a large room at the front of the hotel, with a balcony. The room could be used as a family room, as it had a sofa bed as well, but we stayed there as a couple. The floors creaked a little, but this added to the charm. We did not hear any other guests or staff from our room, so soundproofing is good. Bed was large and comfy. The views from the balcony were lovely and there were chairs to sit on too.

RomaniaMaybe a little refresh or update on small details would not hurt, in the future. the water was hot, but it took several minutes to heat up. The room is warm, but the heat is turned off early in the morning and only the staff can operate it, turn it back on in the evenings.
As it wasn't our first stay here, we liked it as much as before. The location is amazing, a lot of history, nice staff and great soundings. the breakfast was amazing and so is the lunch/dinner, if you want to eat in their restaurant. The room was big, comfortable and very clean. Very close to Peles Castle, Sinaia Monastery and city center. We will definitely stay again.

MoldovaThe room was modern, but pretty small and the windows were small and I like having a lot of air in the room. The bathroom had a glass wall, which was bery beautiful, but not very practical. You could see and hear everything. There was a privacy shield, but it did not help with the sounds. My husband and I I had to go outside while the other was doing their business, to not kill the romantic vibe completely, it was funny.
The location is great, the staff is very friendly and professional. We stay here every time we are in Sinaia.
