“If you are looking for a tranquil, quiet place to destress, Serenity is it! We (family of 4) spent four days there and enjoyed it tremendously. My wife enjoyed spending time on one of the 2 patios, coffee in hand, and listening to the diverse bird calls and the calming sound of the water feature. The place is animal-friendly: the enclosed garden surrounds the house, so our cats could roam safely. The property has EVERYTHING you need and comes with a fireplace in the lounge - perfect for the chilly McGregor winter nights - and aircon in the main bedroom. It has Netflix, and with a good wifi connection, we could also watch other streaming services we are subscribed to. Gordon, our host, was very welcoming and made our stay extra special. He provided us with information about things to do in McGregor (it was our first visit), assisted with a booking at On the Courtyard (their food is great!), and helped us during an emergency. On our first night there, our 4.5-month kitten stopped breathing. Our cats were given sedatives to calm them down on the trip. My wife contacted our vet, but could not get hold of him, so she called Gordon. He was there in minutes, and even called a resident (trained in emergency veterinary care) to help. Thankfully I was able to help our kitten, who started improving as the sedative wore off. When my wife checked her phone later, Gordon had messaged her to make sure our kitten had recovered. He was available throughout our stay to answer all our questions, suggest walks in the area, and remind us to visit the town's Saturday market. Thanks to him, we visited Temenos Retreat Garden, which my wife described as a "soul-renewing experience". Gordon, thank you for everything, the extra care you showed our family during an emergency, and your helpfulness. We will never forget our holiday at Serenity (aptly named!). Serenity and McGregor allowed us to destress and recharge, and our pets loved it too!”
