“The name Tobler evokes thoughts of chocolatey indulgence; fittingly, this hotel delivers sweet experiences from start to finish!
We have stayed in Hotel Tobler in Ascona a few times now and really admire the delightful family-run atmosphere, as well as enjoy its prime location overlooking Lake Maggiore. The warm and welcoming hospitality made our stay feel personalised and comfortable. The hotel’s peaceful setting, nestled amidst lush greenery, provided a serene escape with easy access to Ascona’s charming town centre.
A standout experience was the delicious Torta Caprese served at breakfast—rich, moist, and the perfect indulgence to start the day. I even asked if I could have the recipe and the breakfast staff organised this so that I have a handwritten recipe form Fausto in the kitchen . A big thank you to all of the staff and I will treasure this recipe particularly as it is gluten free and perfect to serve to guests who have allergies

“Driving in to Melide from the French alps didn't make it look promising as a place to stay for the three days that we had booked. But looks can be deceptive and it turned out to be a really wonderful location for exploring Lake Lugano and the surrounds. The hotel and restaurant were lovely and the view over the lake was beautiful from the room. The room was spacious, clean and well laid out and breakfast was really good. The train station was an easy walk from the hotel and the Ticino ticket gives free train transport, so visiting Lugano was very easy and definitely worth doing. We can really recommend the funicular from Paradiso to San Salvatore (with the walk back down to Melide being an unexpected bonus). The cogwheel train trip to Monte Generoso was an unexpected delight and we would have loved to walk from there back to Bellavista, but unfortunately didn't have the time. Also stopping off at the Cala Melide after our various trips was a real delight, really friendly service, good wine and beer, great Pinsa and a fabulous view!”
