“The Sands Hotel in Orkney is located in a small village, right across the street from the sea. You can enjoy a top quality meal in the restaurant, sit outside ( Orkney weather permitting) with a quiet drink from the bar, and loose yourself in the mesmerising sea. The rooms are all very tastefully decorated with everything you need. In the morning, enjoy a good breakfast to set you up for the day. Cannot recommend The Sands Hotel highly enough.”
“Not very much really. We had to book into another hotel further along from ours, we were then taken back to our room to be shown where it was located. After going through a few corridors and doors we were shown our room.
The room was clean and adequate for one nights stay, after getting off the 11-00pm ferry, we were disappointed! There was no view from both windows, we were facing brick walls of a rubbish dump garden.
The other hotel was fully booked, because it was obviously more appealing than ours. Breakfast was not included, and was £35 extra to the £160 we paid for our room. Absolute scandalous!”
