“The Almgut is beautifully nested in between the Austrian Mountains in a lovely village called St Margaret. If you need solitude, beautiful landscape views that look like a postcard picture, incredible food and an amazing spa - This is where you need to go.
The staff really went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. I told one of the waiters that I was Gluten intolerant and to my surprise the next morning the chef had baked two fresh loaves of the most delicious gluten free bread that I have had in my life. They are just wonderful. Hans, Walter, Peter, Kata are just some of the wonderful people there that made my stay extra special.”

“It's a simple, but well prepared accomodation, with good breakfast, kind stuff. The enviroment is beautiful, you can make a trip, or rindig a bike, or skiiing as you want. Absolutely worth it.”

“Friendly owner / staff. Easy check in and check out. Quiet hotel. Beautiful rooms that have character but also modern touches. We received an upgrade to a larger room, the bed was very comfortable and also the bathroom was newly renovated with a great rain shower. Breakfast was solid - not so much choice but enough - what more do you need? Good fresh rolls and bread, nice ham and cheese and sausages. Cereals, yogurts and also fresh boiled eggs. The coffee was excellent (swiss machine). And nice room to eat in. We would stay again for sure!!! Also: you can go for long hikes directly from the hotel along the river and return via the town of St Michael. Or you can continue on the Tamsweg for many many kms.”
