“Great view across to Lake Como, from a comfortable spacious room. Good location away from the crowds, but quick and easy to get down to the lakeside towns and villas. Excellent evening meal.”
“CHECK GOOGLE REVIEWS PLEASE AND DO NOT STAY HERE if you want to sleep well, and if you don't want bugs in your bed.
they had a massive party that finished around 1am, and people speaking very loud outside the room was terrible. I called the receptionist and she said she could not do anything, I was shocked by her response! A few hours after, when I checked out and complained the guy was so nice and even treated me with coffee, I kind of let it go, butttttt then my whole body started to scratch I had like 15 bites. how's this even possible? and for the record, I spent 20 days in total traveling around Italy. non of the hotels/hostels had bedbugs.”
“The only thing i like about this place is the location. it was very near the metro station other than that everything else was very bad. they gave me a different room from the one i booked.”
“We have been to Lago d'Iseo a few times already, also in a hotel on Mont'Isola, but this was the best one we have stayed in to date.
The Albergo Aquila is rated as a one star hotel and when we got our key to the room we thought "this is from the 70's" - one star is perhaps too much.
On entering the room on a sunny afternoon, we were flabbergasted by the view of the lake from the balcony. We got a room on the second floor and had a most beautiful view of the lake over the trees in the hotel garden.
The room/building is old, but we found the double bed very comfortable. Unusual for a one star hotel, we got clean towels every day and our bed was made every day. The room and bathroom were impeccably clean. We loved the tiled floor in the room.
With the garden directly under the balcony, we had one of the quietest and most relaxing holidays in a very long time.
Having a fridge in the room was a great help for keeping our drinks and dog-food cool.
Regarding cleanliness and service, this one-star hotel was better than a couple of four-star hotels we have stayed in in the past.”
“We saw most of the lake and Salo seemed to be one of the best towns. The hotel is only a hundred meters from the bus stop for the bus from the train station. The location is close to all the town sightseeing, restaurants and lake ferries. We cycled to Riva and there is a very good bike shop 200m from hotel. The hotel were happy to help store bikes and give advice on cycling routes. The hosts/owners and staff were helpful in ever way.”
“The place looks very friendly and the staff are nice and kind. They offer to lend you a padlock to keep your things safe if you want to, which is very nice of them. The room and the bathroom were clean and the curtains in the beds are the best feature of the rooms since it gives you privacy.”
