  • The Queens Review Score: 8

“The hotel is well located for the M6 and has a good car park. It is clean, well maintained with friendly service. The bedroom and en suite were nicely decorated. A good choice of food on the menu and a cosy bar.”

  • Wood House Review Score: 9

“The house keeper who was there during my stay was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I also briefly met the owner who was also very nice. The view here is absolutely incredible and nature is on the doorstep I was looking for some peace and to be immersed in nature for my stay in Buttermere and staying here gave me that. There is also a private entrance to the lake which is nice. It’s a ten minute walk to the village from here. They include a hearty breakfast if you want it. The room had everything I needed. Buttermere itself is so peaceful and beautiful and though a small place there is so much to explore I feel I only scratched the surface on this stay. There’s a lot to explore I walked a lot and swam! I recommend and would return for some peace if I need it.”

  • Queens Head Inn & Restaurant Review Score: 10

“The staff were all so friendly and welcoming, I travel so much for work around the country and stay in different hotels several times a month and the Queens Head has excelled. The food, cleanliness, staff and comfort are above and beyond expectations. Will be coming back with my husband to be able to enjoy the stay much more.”

  • “Location Fabulous dinner Good wine list”

  • Babbling Brook Guesthouse Review Score: 9

“The host was extremely friendly and welcoming on arrival. He even carried our suitcase up the two flights of stairs to reach our allocated room. The accommodation was cosy and provided a relaxing environment for us despite the deluge of rain that fell on Keswick during the 24 hours we visited (110 mm overnight!). With the correct wet weather gear we were able to walk to our chosen restaurant within 5 mins which was excellent. The main street was only a short walk away so gave us easy access to everything. We were fortunate to get street parking right outside the guesthouse - I could see that parking at times could be a challenge.”
