“the room was amazing - I thought I was in heaven when I woke up and the sun was streaming in the window with the forever view. Breakfast was equally spectacular”
“A very welcoming hotel, firstly a very polite, friendly and professional young man at reception (we chatted about football). The room was large and airy, clean and with character (no identikit corporate style here). There was a space to store my bike overnight, and parking available or easy to find on the street for those in a car. It is literally on the eurovelo 6/ Nevers to Orléans cycle route so no deviation necessary, which allowed me to leave my stuff in my room and then cycle up the massive hill to visit Sancerre without having to lug everything up. There's no evening restaurant but there are some places around the hotel or lots of choice in Sancerre. Breakfast was nice with a good choice typical for this level of hotel and a fair price. Discounted for children I think. Can completely recommend, especially for cyclists due to its location.”
“Staff were friendly and helpful. We were stuck at the train station on arrival and they helped us call a taxi.
Room was small but comfortable.
Location is excellent.”
“A beautiful setting - very romantic. Lots of history and the grounds were stunning. Our cottage was very private and away from the main house and accommodation. Easy to park and unpack. We travelled with four dogs and the only suggestion would be to make the walled garden totally secure (but not a big problem). We loved having the pet rabbit wondering about and also the bantams at the bottom of the garden. The number of frogs in the pond was insane!
The staff were very friendly and helpful when I was trying to make a booking work for our return journey.”
“This hotel is a little gem. Right across the road from the Loire River with a big car park at the rear. At check in, we were offered a choice of room at the back (quieter away from the road) or at the front with magnificent view of the Loire. We took the view. Room was a good size with a toilet and shower room. Car park included covered archways for motorcycle or bicycle parking. No charge for parking on first come first served basis. Some late arrivals' cars were accommodated at the front. Breakfast was a good buffet choice with scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages available. Scrambled egg was good too. Plenty of staff but they struggled to keep the buffet replenished in this busy and popular hotel. Location was fantastic with a 20 minute walk along the river side path to the old bridge and then up into the main square and cathedral area. It is very near to the autoroute junction and is easy to find.”
