  • Zamalek House Hotel Review score: 9

“My recent stay at Zamalek House Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. Nestled in the serene and chic Zamalek district, this boutique hotel offers a unique blend of history, comfort, and outstanding hospitality that truly sets it apart from other accommodations in Cairo. From the moment I arrived, the staff's professionalism and warmth were evident. The security personnel were not only efficient but also welcoming, ensuring I felt safe and at ease throughout my stay. The reception team was equally fantastic, always ready with a smile and quick to assist with any queries or special requests. Their attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile truly enhanced my overall experience. Even the housekeeping team deserves praise for keeping my room impeccably clean and cozy during my stay. While the rates at Zamalek House Hotel were a little on the higher side, I found that the unique touches and excellent service more than made up for it. The charming décor, particularly the vintage photographs of iconic Egyptian cinema actors, added an extra layer of character and ambiance. As a film enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed this artistic homage to Egypt's golden age of cinema, which gave the hotel a nostalgic yet elegant vibe. The photos are scattered throughout the hallways and common areas, making each corner of the hotel feel like a mini gallery. In terms of comfort, my room was spacious, well-appointed, and had all the amenities I could need for a relaxing stay. The Zamalek district itself is one of the most picturesque and quiet parts of Cairo, offering a peaceful retreat while still being close to key attractions.”

  • El Farida Hotel Review score: 10

“I'm always nervous when booking hotels in Egypt as it's pot luck you get a good one. I was very pleasantly surprised with this one though. Brand new refurbished and exceptionally clean. Nice clean and bright entrance which makes a huge difference to feeling safe as a solo woman traveller. Large rooms with freshly painted walls. Great shower. Very helpful staff who can arrange trips if needed. Great Italian restaurant next door. Quiet with minimal street noise to say it's city centre. 10 mins walk to the museum. At under £35 a night it was a total bargain and I would definitely stay again.”
