Overall, I would say that for a 5-star hotel, there is an expected international standard, but compared to similar-rated hotels I've stayed in before, the Wave was a bit disappointing.
The facility itself is absolutely great: spacious, organized, well-maintained, and has pleasant common areas with an excellent pool area. The hotel's outdoor pool (and its surroundings) has a very nice atmosphere and is attractive and inviting, but unfortunately, it is ice-cold. The relaxation area around the pool is also well-maintained, clean, has plenty of sunbeds, and is aesthetically pleasing with lush greenery; this was particularly appealing.
The wellness/fitness/sauna section is excellent, well-equipped, with a pleasant atmosphere and sufficient space in the saunas and relaxation room.
The room we booked was spacious and clean, offering a good view of the fountain and the sea. The soundproofing in the room is also excellent. However, there was occasionally an unpleasant sewer smell coming from the bathroom.”
“The room was cozy and had all the facilities needed, including for the beach. The staff were very nice and supportive. We served delicious food and drinks on the terrace enjoying the seaside view. The beach is in front of the hotel and has a handy bar. Being outside of the season, the hotel offered us free sunbeds & umbrella and free parking lot. I liked the small details that made our stay enjoyable: refreshments, rose liqueur and cookies on the lobby. The hotel is near the Old Town and the city center, 15 minutes walking. We will definitely come back.”
