“One of the best we had in our extended visit to the area.”

  • Abbey View Review score: 10

“It was lovely to enter the kitchen and find a thoughtful hand written message to welcome us to the property along with contact numbers for our hosts - should they be needed. Along with that extra special touch of a bottle of wine and glasses to welcome us. The kitchen included essentials including milk, condiments and those essential emergency tins of beans - perfect if had travelled a long way and needed a meal. Plus a dog bed and dog bowl for furry friends. The apartment was spotless and towels large and fluffy. All toiletries were included and not just silly single use plastic samples - proper sized - more eco friendly, refillable bottles. The location was perfect - view from one side over the Abby and historical graveyard, then the typical market square with its cobbles on the other. Even though Scotland were playing in the Euros whilst we were there we were not disturbed by noise. Throw walking distance restaurants/takeaways and shops into the mix and what more could you want. The river walk is lovely - whilst we were not touring - it was ideally placed to visit the border towns.”

  • “Location was very good. Kitchen was on the main, well equipped. Large variety of teas/coffees etc. Well lit in hallway.”

    “Spacious, light, clean, central”

  • Marys Garden View North Review score: 10

“This is a compact but beautifully clean and well appointed flat in a great location. It was spotless with beautiful linen, towels etc, a great shower and incredibly comfortable bed. Love the milk, shortbread etc left by the host - so thoughtful!”

  • “Spacious and well equipped with lots of little extras - milk, bread, cereals, jam, coffee, tea biscuits etc and dog treats. Helpful, accommodating hosts. Quiet location but in a village with great facilities all within walking distance including a butcher, pub, The Main Street Trading Company plus a convenience store and old fashioned newsagents. At the bottom of the cut in the cottages opposite you can access a path down to the river Tweed. Lots of lovely places to visit in the beautiful surrounding Borders countryside, including the donkey sanctuary and Melrose. Choose from the many walks along the Tweed in various locations or walk round the loch at the Haining in Selkirk. Bowhill House and Abbotsford are also within easy striking distance.”
