Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaWe were in a front grassland & board walk facing property and it was very private and spacious. I liked the board walk access to the beach. Communal bikes a good idea. Breakfast was excellent and the communal areas were beautiful.

United StatesWe found the breakfast to be tasty and nicely presented. We ate dinner at the restaurant and were not overly impressed with the selections for vegetarians. Service was good but the overall experience did not blow us away for the cost of the meal. In our room, there was a problem with the shower door that allowed water to leak out into the toilet area.
The architecture of the resort is stunning. Buildings are new and the grounds are nicely landscaped. The beach access is very nice and the facilities for lounging at the beach and pool were very nice.

United KingdomThe resort is absolutely beautiful, the beach, pools, apartment, restaurants, the vast landscape with bikes to make getting around as pleasurable as possible are all exquisite. There is a fabulous choice of activities and we loved yoga, cocktail making, and the live music in the bar/restaurant. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff (the cleaning staff are exceptional) and the focus is entirely on guests having the best experience.

France2/3 restaurants but pretty much the same menu on all of them, nothing spectacular there and little variety if you stay for a long trip. A bit understaffed in restaurants at times and struggling to take our orders in English. The hotel recently opened so hopefully they can fix those approximations not worthy of a 5 star
Brand new facilities, the room is great. Lot of outdoor activities and great pool/beach areas. Very helpful to help us book activities or suggest us some

PortugalGreat property, nice staff and with walking access to the best beach in Algarve. Fun sports area, with tennis, padel, basket and football. Breakfast buffet was of great quality. The resort is also expanding so it will keep getting better. You will be 15 min to nice towns, such as Vila Real de Santo António and Tavira. Great for a good rest, but with enough interesting activities to keep you busy if you chose to be.

United KingdomThere was this unpleasant smell that came from our air conditioner which wasn’t fixed. It was on and off and they couldn’t fix it.
They had bicycles to use within the Property and outside They had their own private beach which could be accessed via bikes, which we thought was really cool The villa we booked was super comfortable and had EVERYTHING we could need! Very modern fixtures and fittings and you can tell there was great attention to details The food was amazing ! Room service was 100%

Austria**Resort Review: A Mixed Experience** I recently had the opportunity to stay at a new modern 5-star resort, and while the experience had its highlights, there were notable downsides that affected the overall enjoyment of our stay. The resort itself is stunning. The newly built houses are beautifully designed with a modern aesthetic that seamlessly blends luxury and comfort. Each house is spacious, well-appointed, and offers all the amenities one would expect from a high-end resort. The surrounding area is equally impressive, with lush landscaping, well-maintained grounds, and a serene ambiance that provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The beach was undoubtedly the highlight of the stay. It was pristine, with soft, white sand and crystal-clear waters that made for an idyllic setting. Whether lounging under an umbrella or taking a dip in the ocean, the beach offered a tranquil and refreshing experience that was hard to beat. Unfortunately, the resort’s service fell significantly short of expectations. The staff, while polite, were poorly trained and struggled with basic tasks. Orders were frequently forgotten or mixed up, it was no room service to poolside drinks were unreasonably long. Communication was another major issue, as many of the staff members had a limited command of English, leading to misunderstandings and frustration. The check-in process was particularly problematic. It was slow and disorganized, with long lines and a lack of clear communication from the front desk. This initial hiccup set a disappointing tone for the rest of the stay. Despite these issues, the resort manager was a bright spot in an otherwise frustrating experience. They were attentive and genuinely tried their best to address the problems we encountered. However, it was clear that the staff needed much more training to meet the standards expected at a 5-star establishment.

SwitzerlandI didn’t like the unprofessional service. For a 5 star hotel we were expecting staff with experience and not junior inexperienced stuff with no idea about what they were doing. They all seemed unbothered and didn’t bother to smile or be friendly and polite. We had to wait long time to get coffee, water and so on, even if they didn’t looked busy. Most of them didn’t speak English. Of course there are exceptions like Barbara was very sweet and always smiling. The girl in the reception, forgot her name was also very professional. The food, except the breakfast which was amazing , was just average and very pricey. We ended up eating outside of the hotel.
I loved the setting of the hotel, the location, the room. The pool area was very nice. Very close to a beautiful beach, I loved that we could cycle around the hotel and all the way to the beach. There are bikes everywhere and you can just take it and drop it off wherever you like to. I loved the tranquility, it was very quiet, perfect place to relax. It felt never crowded even if the hotel was full. The breakfast was amazing with many different options (also healthy options). I did yoga twice in the morning and for me that was just the top, perfect start of the day. I am practicing yoga so I wasn’t expecting a lot but the yoga teacher was very experienced and very sweet. Except from the inexperienced staff and average food, everything was amazing and I could definitely come back!

Czech RepublicTo my surprise most of the staff did not understand English. There were few staff members with excellent English, however most of them did not understand. Also the table servis at the restaurant was pretty slow, which was disappointing. The quality of food in the restaurant, except breakfast, was mediocre.
Breakfasts were pretty amazing, great choice. There were amazing sports facilities - tennis, football pitch, beach volleyball. The design of the place was fabulous and the cleaning servis of high standard. The beach was stunning. Throughout the resort you could move on a bike, which was both fun and useful. And the smell of pine trees was amazing.

LithuaniaFor foreigners: ocean was literally icy (~16 C) the whole week (first week of July) that we stayed. And we are from Northern Europe, used to cold water. Pools somewhat cool. We all got sick. If you want a beach vacation you may want to consider a totally different place on the globe. If you want to explore Portugal, is a modern Scandinavian style hotel a plca where you would like to do that? Also, consyruction of big Marriott hotel on the territory of resourt and consyruction noices the whole day do not add joy. For management: training, training and training of staff. With reception all good. Restaurant - some ok, most lost and nor knowing what they ate doing. Insufficient staff durng breakfast. Not serving coffee at the table but allowing the guests to queue at proffessional coffee machines all lost trying to figure out how to make the coffee. 5 star hotel? Come on, Cleanin - trying very hard. Not trained to clean the second floor and stairs to it. It was all dirty we came, all dirty we left. Nobody ever cleaned it. Could not spend time there as it was unpleasant because of dirt. Also, the second floor is completely open from both sides and the door from second to first floor unlocked. I did not feel safe. Give the key for that door to the guests. And the last - “do not disturb” sign absolutely a must. Three times a day “ding-ding” at the door and me all sick climbing down from the first floor just to say “thank you, we do not need anything” was just killing me.
Very comfortable big townhouse with nice view. Staff not experienced but trying hard. Good beach nearby. Modern hotel in a nice green place - perfect place for vacation for local people, not for foreigners though.

CanadaAbsolutely nothing other than we should have stayed a few more days!
The establishment is amazing and very well maintained. We loved our time there, the staff is very caring and the facilities are outstanding. We got upgraded upon arrival and the small attentions make this trip even better. We should have definitely stayed longer and we will be returning very soon. We were concerns about the construction noises based on different reviews but it’s minimal and definitely not an issue.

SwitzerlandWe did not see any management around to manage their new set up or fix issues created by their super junior staff… Service - staff seem very junior with literally no idea what they were doing, with some good senior stuff guiding them… This level/price hotel seriously needs to step up in service as currently they risk their own reputation. Same with food - very average and overpriced - we had truffle chicken salad for 36 euros - dry chicken, some old raddish, pieces of (canned and tasteless) beans…! We stayed in Octant last year and food was uncomparably better. Check in/out inefficient with staff hardly managing it.. we asked how to connect netflix - and no one knew how it worked :):)
it is super dog friendly (with exagerated fee of 50 eur per night…!!!), quite new development, and excellent access to the beach. Bikes everywhere, loved it! Some employees really great - Sergio and Joao Ignacio. They gave us an upgrade for my birthday, which was very nice surprise!
