The housekeeping staff removed our electricity card and extras we had asked for and did not fill our tea, sugar or water. We let the front desk know and they accommodated us.

Someone in the hotel has access to their bookings.com logins and was able to send us messages trying to scam us for money! Luckily we were not born yesterday and we don’t click links! Just be aware as one would think messages received should be trusted! Would have cancelled our stay if we hadn’t already paid!

If we wanted a refill of tea, coffee(nespresso capsules), or water for the room, they asked for a small payment. Lidl and Aldi nearby, so we just bought our own.

It was amazing, from the minute we walked in, to the time we left! Even a person hand written welcome note and on a welcome the TV screen!! There was a kettle, a large bottle of water, a fridge (hidden in a cupboard), and a nespresso machine in the room. It was wonderful!! Beyond my expectation!!

Everything was lovely, from the stunning decoration to the joyful staff and location. The view was superb, the breakfast was delicious (plenty of variety and fresh food), and the pool with tasteful music in the background was just a delight.

Wonderful room! Nicely decorated, feels like home 🤍 and what a bathroom! Never had/seen such a nice bathroom. Very nice breakfast. We asked for a breakfast to go since we had to leave early one morning. We got a nice bag full with a good breakfast. Very friendly staff!

Slightly surprised the hotel was on a passing street. Based on photos on Booking.com was expecting room with balcony river view to be closer to the river such as a boardwalk. And back of hotel to be on the passing street. Also staff at reception to offer higher Customer Service!

Lovely new decor, bed very comfortable & large balcony with view on river & sunset ! Pool on rooftop was wonderful, relaxing with nice terrace.

We loved how clean the room was upon check in and the pool was absolutely beautiful. The cost to get to downtown Lisbon isn’t too bad so this hotel became a retreat for us after a long day in the city. Beds are very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. If I come back to Portugal, I will be coming back to Upon Avila. We enjoyed our time here very much, thank you!

If you don't have a car, do not go here. It would be extremely inconvenient. Also wish the pool and roof top were open longer.

We tried to bring our nieces to the pool as visitors paying for 1/2 hours and was declined because the hotel was full. During the hours we stayed the pool that day have only me and my boyfriend, plus a couple. So was quite frustrating.

The bedroom was very beautiful and comfy also with great view. Ths pool was amazing place to rest and relax.

The 2 coffee pods were only on the 1st day on the arrival. They should be supplied every day , with outcharge. Also, to avoid breakfast ques, you shouldn't not have a foodbool club mixing it with your guests.
