Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaWe didn't have any problems here.
Great location! Check-in was done in the Ale-Hop store and the man who checked us in was always very helpful when we had questions. The shared facilities (kitchen/laundry/lounge) were spacious and well equipped.

BrazilOnly downside is the inconvenience of finding car parking close enough to transfer suitcases. But that becomes a positive as the pedestrian.only access means low street noise.
The location was brilliant, and the room was very well fitted out. Staff could not have been more helpful, and all was great value for money. We will be back in a heartbeat!

New ZealandStayInn City is very central to all the main sights and an easy walk from the bus station. A full, modern kitchen is at the disposal of guests, which makes it very easy if you want to self-cater. Check in at Ale-Hop was easy and no problem storing luggage there until your room is ready. My room looked onto the street but it seemed only pedestrians came by. I would definitely stay there again if I came back to Evora.

AustraliaThe staff were very friendly & helpful. The room & bathroom were spotlessly clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The hotel was located within a short walk to the "old town." We found free parking in the street nearby.

CanadaFor bus travellers the Inn is a 20 min uphill walk on cobbled streets. Taxis and Uber are available. Also a narrow steep flight of stairs to the rooms. There is no elevator but our check in girl assisted us with our luggage. We were glad it was only carry on.
The location in the old town was very convenient. Staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed access to a shared kitchen and patio and were welcomed to use the laundry if it was free (used by cleaning staff). StayInn provided a number of ammenities such as breakfast cerial, fruit, tea and coffee and some facial hygiene products in our room. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the space very much.

NetherlandsThe upper apartment is quite a hassle to get your stuff up, because of a small winding staircase. Bathroom and kitchen are very small. Furthermore the bedroom had a weird and bad smell and almost smelled like mold.
We didn’t get the apartment that we initially booked because we changed the rooms with another group that had health issues and troubles with the tight and high staircases. We got the apartment on the upper floor. The check-in and check-out went smoothly at the Ale Hop store next to the apartment and the staff was very kind. The apartment that we got was rather small but had its own roof terrace and small kitchen. The kitchen was equipped with all the kitchen utensils but some of the pots were burned. Beds (1x double + bunk beds) were spacious but quit firm. It was nice that all windows were equipped with a mosquito net. We had our own kitchen but could also use the main kitchen and social room one floor down. The big kitchen had a lot of supplies and it felt like a hostel, but without the parties and noise. Perfect location with supermarkets, bakery’s and all main sightseeings within easy walking distance. The location was very quiet at night.

Exceptional, clean and cozy stay in the center of Évora. Ideal to rest, offering a nice kitchen space to prepare food and take breakfast. The space is renewed and a great choice if you want a central location during your stay. Staff was very helpful!

CanadaNoisy at night, could hear people outside below, hooting and hollering, laughing, etc. I’m glad people are having a good time, but not at our lack of sleep’s expense. No instructions for the air conditioner unit, so didn’t know how to turn it on. It probably would have helped drowning out the people outside.
Can’t beat the location. Most sights within easy walking distance, as well as many restaurants. Easy check in and secure keypad entrance to the building.

CanadaThe foam on the beds are starting to wear so it was a little on the firm side as the cushion was nearer the wood boards supporting it.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. I also appreciated my room. The windows help buffer outside noise so it’s relatively quiet. It was also nice to have a bottle of water in the room also. The towels were of a good size too!

United KingdomThe kitchen knives could be sharper. Night time disturbances from noisy passers-by, though clearly not the responsibility of the owners, kept us awake. I would recommend asking for a room that doesn't look onto the shopping street outside.
We liked the size of the room and bathroom. Access to the kitchen with free use of a washing machine and tumble dryer in the evening was a real bonus.

United StatesNot easy to find the place! No elevator with narrow stairs, so carrying a large suitcase was a pain!
The location was incredible! Good hot shower, with a big shower area! Good WiFi! Walkable area! Safe! Quiet (although my room had a balcony facing the street)! Comfy bed! Kitchen with coffee machine, hot water kettle , washer and dryer! Free water bottle every day in the room! Would definitely recommend and stay there again!

United KingdomThere was a bit of noise which is normal for central Évora, but specifically since the ale hop cow bell kept being rung by children passing by. Perfectly normal but if you are a light sleeper, take care not to stay in the rooms facing the street directly.
Everything was perfectly clean and comfortable, all the staff amazing and friendly!
