Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesNo complaints! It’s an older house and bound to have some small issues (for example the flue adjuster was loose) but Vilma explained how to work the fireplace and it was perfect despite the small issue. It really is a wonderful property
The property and home are lovingly and incredibly well kept. No detail is overlooked! Vilma and Carlos were kind and caring hosts who went above and beyond. I can’t wait to stay here again!

NetherlandsThe pool is shared and in the neighbour house garden. This is not clear in the reservation and we were very disappointed by it as it was one of the main reasons we booked this house. We wanted to catch up and swim in the pool. There was an overlap of guests and it seemed that the second set of guests were also not aware of this and were also disappointed. It made for an awkward time and spoiled the trip. The pool is around 3m2 and 1.2m deep. It's only good for cooling off in and floating about. The images are deceptive, it is not large enough for swimming, which was annoying as we are swimmers that would have enjoyed the oppertunity for a few laps. It is definitely not large enough to share.
The house is as beautiful, if not more than the pictures. Everything is immaculate, there is not a spot of dust anywhere. The hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful. We booked a couple of trips while we were ther and the host made sure we had a good price and were not charged for pick up. The breakfast was extremely generous. Items were left in the fridge for us to use at our leisure and the bread was delivered fresh and left on the gate by the baker, also generous and we couldn't get through it. They even topped up a few breakfast items midweek and it was again very, very generous. The rooms are beautiful but perhaps the beds are not large enough for a couple. The sheets and towels are crisp and clean and could be changed mid-week. The kitchen has great facilities and the BBQ came with coal and lighters and equipment so it was very easy to get started and we enjoyed the beautiful outdoor cooking area and BBQ with view on the fantastic garden very much. The garden is wonderful, we did not use the volleball net as it was a little hot for us but it was a nice idea. Overall the house and garden are beautiful and very pleasant to stay in.
