I really loved my stay here. Very relaxing, the house was simply decorated, rustic, but to a high standard. Everything thought of, water, fruit and snacks all included. The pool area was really great. Then visited the winery and had a tasting. Learnt a lot about the locality.

Lots of kids by the pool and it was hard to relax. I would suggest to build a separate pool for kids.

From the moment we arrived, we were overwhelmed by the warmth and hospitality of the hotel team. The attention to detail throughout our stay was remarkable, making us feel both pampered and at home. Our family had a wonderful time exploring the wide range of activities available From the exceptional food to the top-notch facilities, everything exceeded our expectations.

Even if they were all really nice, some of the members of the staff did not have sufficient training to be guides to make the tour around the hotel (lots of information missing). Also, the two bar menus are quite limited (even for a bar).

The hotel is beautiful and the level of service is really high. There’s a lot to do and the staff is super-helpful.

The hotel had a magnificent view of the sunrise/sunset with nature surrounding us.The food there were also organically made from the nature around which made it even better

The choice of gluten free options was limited apart from breakfast. I had to suggest dessert options myself.Also we were disappointed by the condition of the bath robes and slippers which we felt are probably due for replacement.

Wow, what a gem of a hotel. This is a truly spectacular property that exceeded even our high expectations. The staff and service were fantastic and the place gives you an immediate sense of calm. The surroundings are absolutely stunning. What we also appreciated was that the food, drinks and activities were not overpriced, so you left feeling like you were not taken advantage of, which can be the case for a lot of high end hotels. The food was delicious and in beautiful settings.

Beautiful property with the most amazing decor. All the details were well thought through. Top comfort beds and linen, beautiful accommodations, fantastic common areas, great staff. There are not enough superlatives to describe São Lourenço do Barrocal. On a one to ten scale, they would be eleven!

More variation of vegetarian options in main restaurant. No strong tea eg English Breakfast

Room was very spacious with large bathroom. Lovely terrace where we had an excellent dinner via room service one evening. Very peaceful with friendly and efficient staff. Pool and grounds amazing although it was too hot to explore them as much as we would have liked!

Unfortunately we were not at all able to relax by the adult pool as there was one group of guests that let their kids scream and splash constantly for two days, completely disrespecting other guests. I would have expected the staff of a luxury hotel to find a way to make sure that all guests (also the ones without kids) can enjoy their stay, for example by asking the parents of the loud kids to use the kids pool. Also, basic drinks by the pool felt quite overpriced.

Rooms and facilities are luxurious, with a lot of attention to detail. The Spa and treatments were great too. The barbecue at the pool bar was a culinary delight.
