The staff were so friendly and helpful, always ready to welcome us and help. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, had quite big balcony and had every stuff that was needed. There is a parking and even if it was full, the staff member helped us find a place to park our car which was so nice. Breakfast was great, had vegetarian options. We really enjoyed our stay there!

Lack of fan in the bathroom meant it got quite steamy/ there was condensation, after showing.

The staff were very attentive and welcoming. They went above and beyond to cater for our dietary requirements (vegan and vegetarian). The hotel was peaceful at night which was perfect.

The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, advising us about taxis and offering to pack us a breakfast up when we left at 4am for the airport. The was a good choice of buffet breakfast and freshly cooked English breakfast, pancakes and omelette. A large suite was available, so we were given a free upgrade, which was amazing. The pool was quite and clean. When the staff knew we were using the pool, the manned the bar and made us cocktails. We never noticed to flyover overhead and the hotel was quite. You do hear and see the occasional plane coming in, but we found that interesting and it's a quite airport. Taxis to and from the airport were less than ten euros and took minutes. Taxis to Funchal cost about 15 euros and took maybe 20 minutes. Download the Bolt app for cheaper Taxis. Walk a minute down the hill, there is a bar and supermarket, then a little square with a range of resources overlooking a church. The beach is a couple of minutes down the hill, although it is a pebble beach.

It’s almost below the motorway , which looks but in fact once you’re there , it’s not noisy & isn’t a problem . I’d definitely return to this hotel .

Helpful and friendly staff, especially on reception. Beautiful and spacious rooms with cute little balcony. Breakfast was delicious. Use of gym and swimming pool available - pool towels provided with stay. Pool bar sells drinks and ice creams. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We liked everything from the booking of property to check-out. The location of the hotel, our room which was so comfortable (it is good-sized and has cozy balcony), the exceptional attitude of hotel staff (we were advised what to do in the surroundings -they can also organise trips in surroundings if needed). We had an early flight, so the hotel had prepared for us breakfast at 4 a.m. We would definitely choose Santa Cruz Village Hotel the next time we visit Santa Cruz.

What they don't mention is the overhead highway passes near the hotel and nearly above the swimming pool. But there is soundproofing along the motorway which is actually very effective, though for a light sleeper you can still hear the morning traffic. However for the location and facilities it wasn't a massive hindrance.

We loved everything about the hotel. * very helpful staff, Mila and Jonattan and their colleagues made our trip memorable and so vell organised * excellent location. Santa Cruz is a charming village with beautiful promenade and many cosy restaurants, market with local products and shops. It has unique atmosphere. And only 25 min walk from the airport * excellent rooms facilities and very comfortable bed * private parking and rent a car, easy (no credit card or deposit) and fab prices * delicious breakfast. Good choice of cold and warm dishes , freshly baked bread and pastry, local grown vegetables * nice and clean swimming pool

Our room was small, although we couldn't use the outdoor area because of the rain. Comfortable and modern anyway, so no real complaints. The parking area needed a bit of care for getting out - spaces were smallish and there are a lot of pillars to avoid.

The underground parking was welcome as it was raining heavily when we arrived. The hotel had ramps everywhere, great for luggage with wheels. The people at reception were very good. We stayed here the night before leaving the country and needed to fill our rental car before returning it. We were given directions, which were welcome as the petrol station wasn't on the road out of town.
