Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThere is nothing to complain about the apartment. Everyone should be aware that Lisbon is a city of many steep hills and this is the situation where safe house is. My lady has some problems with climbing steep hills, so if you arrive at Anjos metro station you will have a steep hill to climb to get to the appartment. When we went out in the day or evening it was easy to decend the hill, but we always got a taxi or uber to take us back to the appartment to avoid the hill.

CanadaThe bathrooms are a bit small for North American standards. It can be noisy from people walking upstairs since it’s an old building. Other residents would slam the metal front gate.
We needed a place big enough to accommodate our family of 5. There are three separate bedrooms and multiple beds. The house is really clean and comfortable. The shower has strong water flow. It’s very conveniently located. We can walk to subway and supermarket. There’s a convenient store right at the corner. There’s a garage parking not far from the house and it costs €15 / 24h.

BulgariaIt was all so nice. Even one single critic will be not fare for our hosts, the apartment itself and our astonishing experience there.
The hosts are very kind and nice people. They have waited for us in front of the apartment and have reserved a FREE parking slot on the street for our car (by parking theirs in the early morning the same day, as they told us). Although we have spent there only one night (5 persons), the hosts didn't show a sign of irritation, just the opposite- they have welcomed us with some sweets and drinks. The apartment itself has the spirit of the apartment of an old aristocrat lady, but very very well maintained and in perfect condition. Don't get me wrong when I say "old aristocrat lady", there is nothing old-school there. The old furniture and utensils are all well refurbished and introduce an atmosphere of art and home. WONDERFULL !!! :) Thank you very much.
