The hotel was a lovely boutique hotel in the centre. Very easy to get to all the places we wanted to visit and very close to the river. There were numerous places to eat. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices.

Excellent hotel. Great location, very clean and comfortable. The soundproofing in the room was good. The breakfast had a good choice of food options. The staff were welcoming very helpful when advising of key places to visit and good restaurants. The hotel really did live up to its excellent reviews.

Sorry we could not stay longer.

Beautifully furnished, new and clean, sensitively restored with visible old walls, but still modern and chic. Comfortable bed, very nice and helpful personnel, excellent breakfast with great choice of everything. View just on the opposite house, but it is the price for being in the very centre. Everything in walking distance, lot of restaurants, river, tram, bus stops, shops.

You have to walk to the hotel because it’s in a pedestrian zone. Not a problem for my group but could be a concern for some people. Also there are lots of bars in the vicinity with music. Again not a problem for me but definitely not a quiet hotel!

We liked EVERYTHING!

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The staff at the front desk very helpful, friendly and courteous (thank you Pedro, Ricardo and Miguel!) Jose O. was also very helpful, friendly and present. The place was easy to find, very welcoming and clean. Loved staying there!

Great boutique hotel a block away from the waterfront esplanade. Modern renovated hotel in colourful old building. Comfortable room overlooking a fairly quiet side street. Decent European-style breakfast with cold cuts, cheeses, fruit and baked goods, although no hot dishes. (Fresh cherries and strawberries in season were a nice touch.). Very helpful front desk staff.

Absolutely nothing

Absolutely fantastic hotel. The attention to detail was exceptional. From the moment we walked through the door and Ricardo greeted us we knew this was a very special hotel. Our room looked over a little crooked cobblestone laneway one lane from the waterfront. The main tourist attractions were a short walk and the restaurants were endless. Tram 1, which takes you along the river to the ocean was a 1 minute walk to it's stop. Our room was a great size and the bathroom was lovely. Breakfast had an excellent selection. If I could I would give this hotel 11 out of 10.

Nothing! Everything was exceptional!

We loved our stay at Ribeira Douro Hotel! It is a superb boutique hotel that feels like 5 star luxury! The hotel is located in prime location at the Douro River next to many shops and restaurants. The attention to detail is unbelievably impressive (welcome port wine drink, front desk staff overview of area, breakfast etc). The front desk staff are so warm and helpful. They spent a long time going over attractions in the area and always available to help! On our last day, they booked us a car for the airport and sent lunch, fruit and drinks with us. The breakfast is amazing and has everything you would enjoy (hot items, meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt…). Lastly, the hotel and rooms are modern and spotless! I can’t say enough about this hotel and I can’t wait to stay again when in Porto!!!’
