Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomClubs in the surrounding area, bit noisy until 4am. The sofa bed was not passable as a bed. Door lock did not seem secure. Accommodation for 2 would have been better.
It was quirky, funky room design with the artwork. Balcony area is nice.

IrelandCONs - One bed was not ready: After checking in, there was only a double bed (we were 3), so the staff had to prepare the extra bed while we were in the room. We didn't have enough space then to accommodate our stuff or move around freely. - The room is not prepared for warm weather, it was only equipped with a small fan. There was a big window that could be open and helped but then we had no privacy as it faces a shared patio. - The main issue was with the bathroom: the door did not close, the bins were not cleaned (before our arrival), but the worst part was the shower (bathtub). Its drain was blocked and we had to use the plunger while taking a shower to clear the obstruction. The staff was helpful but this was not a pleasant situation at all.
PROs - The location was super handy! Right in the centre of the town, was at a very convenient and walkable distance. - The staff was helpful and the price was fair in comparison to other places. - We were able to leave our luggage at the place while waiting for the check-in time.

GermanyThe room light was too dim yellow , in opposite direction to the mirror, not enough to get ready. The staff was super lenient there used to be hardly present until 11 am to atleast deposit our bags. Room was ok clean. There was lot of noises during night and day within the guest house .

AustraliaI arrived 21.00 but the staff were unable to find a key for the room. No keys appeared to work. Eventually a key was found after more than 20 minutes. On entry, the room had not been cleaned nor bedding changed. The room key had been left inside. This was a function of the self check out system. The lack of cleaning was inexcusable.

SpainNot soundproof at all. Barely slept because we could hear absolutely everything and some other guests had no limits. Past midnight, a couple was endlessly speaking super loud in the shared bathroom while leaving the door wide open. I had to ask them to be more quiet because my 6-year-old son and I couldn't sleep. This + people slamming doors, or someone who rang the bell nonstop for 20 minutes late at night, too...

United KingdomIt was difficult to hang the shower head, but managed to have a hot shower. Noise from nearby bars maybe a problem if you like an early night.
Very central location, near to train and bus stations and very close to bars and restaurants. It was basic accomodation but great value for money. It had a clean comfortable bed with shared bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Liked the upstairs terrace with a shared kitchen.

United KingdomWe only had one fan in the room for 4 people, no window in the room mid summer so it was unbareable heat. The room was also pretty badly infested, we all found bugs in our beds, on the floor and in our clothes, i must have stamped on at least 6 bugs.....
