Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Unique little oasis in the small City of Tavira. You will be immersed in the character and attention to detail of its ecosystem. Breakfasts were delicious. Poor is charming.

United KingdomIt all went very well - pretty location with plenty of little spaces to sunbathe and relax. Full of nature! The apartment size was just right for us - 2 people. And enjoyed the quirkiness of the buildings. Nice walk into the main town and handy to be near supermarkets. We thought the staff were superb and very helpful! waiting up for us when our plane was very delayed and all the staff on the reception and at breakfast were really nice.

I will dream about this beautiful property for years to come. It is beautiful, old, charming ,quiet and unique. We loved our room with kitchenette and my adult son had his sleeping alcove. The grounds were amazing and the breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice perfect. Just a short walk to town and very close to grocery stores. The owners were welcoming and helpful. I could live there!

Awesome place. Even though you are in town, it feels like being somewhere on the landside. Very beautiful gardens and structures, feeling like in an agriturismo but only a 10min walk from Taviras Roman Bridge. Solid breakfast, friendly staff.

Brazil- Quinta is a former small rural property located in the heart of the city– its a combination of the best of the both worlds. The property is beautiful–it's an oasis in the middle of the city. - The staff is super friendly and helpful. The owner lives in the property and is super attentive to customer needs. - Breakfast is good- it doesn't feel like a pasteurised hotel experience.

United KingdomThe room was faultless - but as we were on foot and the temperature was in the high 20s, the walk into town was a little daunting at times.
Quirky but impressive former farm - now converted into comfortable, self-catering accommodation. Interesting grounds with water features. Close to railway station, supermarket and a few cafes. Staff extremely welcoming and helpful. Twelve minute walk into town centre. Breakfast very good on both mornings.

GermanyThe Quinta do Caracol is at the edge of the built-up part of Tavira, about a ten-minute walk from the town center. We enjoyed the walk to and from the center, especially as one route to town took us through a residential area and the other through an area with small shops and cafés. Still, visitors with limited mobility might like to take account of the distance from the Quinta do Caracol to the center of Tavira. Parking is available at the Quinta. The town of Tavira has a very large parking area, but that is perhaps five minutes on foot from the town center. The Quinta is close to the Tavira railway station, which is servehd several times a day by local trains to Faro.
My wife and I always enjoy visiting Tavira: we find that it offers both traditional "character" and contemporary comforts (such as a wide range of good restaurants). This year we found that in a similar manner the Quinta do Caracoli provides contemporary comforts (in this case, modern bathrooms, well equipped kitchens, effective heating, etc.) in a delightful setting of traditional buildings and luxuriant gardens. More specifically, while we really appreciated our apartment's modern shower enclosure, full range of kitchen equipmen t, very good WiFi and comfortable bed, we were also very pleased with the traditional design of the apartment -- white walls, massive tile floors, solid wood doors, dark wooden furniture. The massive walls ensured peace-and-quiet, and the spacious layout and abundant closets added to the feeling of comfort. Moreover, our room was nicely serviced each morning. We were delighted by the mature trees and plants in the garden, by the winding paths, by the flowering plants and by the fountains. There were numerous places to sit in the garden as well as some tables.

CanadaWe both showered but hot water ran out for me, which was strange because I showered first.
Location was good, approximately 10 minutes walk to downtown. We also had breakfast which offered variety of items; we had bacon and eggs, tea and pastries. There was also cereal, yogurt, fruit, cheese, etc. We only stayed one night and it suited our needs as we only showered and sleep after sightseeing all day. The property looked very nice and I’m sure if you stayed in the summer/peak season it would be beautiful!
