Stunning old house with a beautiful, spacious room. The outside pool area was lovely and had the most incredible view. Lovely, welcoming staff. Highly recommend.

The indoor pool is a bit uncomfortable. Could be improved in my opinion to a more complete spa.

The owners make you a great reception to the place. Always focused to offer you the best possible stay. The house is super comfortable, very beautiful. The pool has an amazing view. The breakfast is absolutely outstanding with super high quality products.

This property is absolutely stunning and was the best choice we made as our first stay at Douro valley. The owners are so nice and super welcoming- they do everything to make you feel comfortable and are so generous with their conversations, love and services. The property itself is stunning and there are many things to do! You can go on a quick hike in the estate itself, wine tasting close by, they have a beautiful swimming pool. I fell sick during my stay and they catered to me with utmost compassion and gave me whatever I needed to feel better.

OMG. What a nice place. SO sweet staff. Fantastic lady, and sweet sweet young girl and spectacular waiter at night. I was sick upon arrival, and they we helpful during our stay to get me what I needed for my comfort. THANK YOU! The pool area was nice, and AMAZING view. Nice breakfast. Nice room. Family feeling at the hotel. I want to come back again!! we had 2 nigths, and want this again, if not 3 if we are driving in our own car next time.

The only thing I didn't like was that I didn't get to stay longer!

What did I like? EVERYTHING! The view, the pool, the rooms, the food, the wine, and most of all the people!! I've travelled to 45 countries and stayed in all types of accomodation. This was one of my favourite experiences. We had planned to eat out at the local restaurants and ended up staying and eating the amazing dinners in house. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. The pool and that view is heaven. It was just a beautiful experience and such a relaxing break between visiting Lisbon and Porto. I would love to return in future!

This Quinta in the hills of the Douro valley was absolutely fantastic! It has vineyards all around the steep hills, hiking trails through the woods, infinity pool, warm saltwater soaking pool, lovely grounds, beautiful views, large individually, theme-decorated rooms (we were in the Padra room with en-suite bathroom, comfortable bed and balcony with grand views), electronic key system to enter rooms, outside doors and gate. There was private, locked parking and the Quinta is located up a hilly road not far from Peso de Regua. There was the most beautiful glassed-in formal dining room (Querkum Restaurant) with views over the vineyards of the Douro valley where both breakfast and dinner (cooked in the local style with organic ingredients) were served by the very congenial staff. The Manor house is an old family estate which has been 5 years in renovation and exquisitely furnished with many family antiques and large common spaces, and has only been open for a few years. This is an operating farm and vineyard. The owners, Dr. Monteiro and his wife and staff, were a joy to interact with and the owner took us on a hike around his beloved property and introduced us to his prizewinning, Bravia Breed goats. This place has my highest recommendation.

Everything was wonderful but we would recommend wine tasting in the Hotel as the owner owns a vineyard and the staff know a lot about fine wines . The menu should also say and declare that they use local wonderful produce - local goats cheese , fine wines , breads , Chorizo , eggs , olive Oil - please share with your patrons - they will love it. A visit to see the Hotel goats and the shepherd dog is a must .

This Hotel is Superb - I cannot praise it enough . The owners and all the staff offer a bespoke experience so you feel like you are guests within their house . The breakfast is amazing and the location is serene . I would normally never recommend going back to the same hotel again but in this instance I would have no reservations . The owners and all staff are delightful and cannot do enough to make your stay wonderful . We will return to the beautiful Douro Valley . Portugal has so much to offer rather than beaches and golf and Lisbon - try the Douro Valley - you will be amazed .

The outdoor infiniti swimming pool is not heated.

Quinta de Travassihos is a perfect location to base your visit to the Douro Valley. It is surrounded by vineyards and sits high atop a hill with great views of the surrounding valleys, vineyards and countryside. The owners and staff were gracious and knowledgeable. They have done an outstanding job in restoring an old building into a modern luxury accommodation. Special call out to the owners (Carlos and Helena) and Jean for making our stay such a wonderful experience. We will recommend Quinta de Travassihos to our friends and family!

Nothing. Everything was 5-star standard.

This boutique hotel is one of the best we have stayed at, and we travel a lot. Helena and Ricardo are so kind and hospitable, making us feel at home from the moment we walked in. We had a few fantastic meals there, drinks and snacks at the pool and the breakfast was outstanding. Our room was huge and spotless, with heavy shutters to keep out the heat and keep it dark for lie-ins. We got much help making tasting reservations and great pointers on where to go. The view from the pool is breathtaking, and I even had a 50-minute outdoor massage on the deck. Everything is modern, yet the interior decor and gorgeous antiques remain faithful to the property's rich history - the perfect combination. We did a challenging walk around the vast property and saw the goats, the fruit trees, the vineyards and the stream... what a great job this couple does at maintaining it! Book here, don't even doubt it.... it is a diamond of a hotel.
