We stay out of the main building and our room didn't the overall character of the property, and needed repair.

Both the breakfast and location were excellent. The grounds and pool were also excellent, and were a great salvation at the end of a hot day. The main hotel was delightful.

Good that the aircondition was working also in the heating mode. Arriving late or early might be a little tricky as the reception is not working 24h.

Quiet and green location, small and very cosy hotel. Very good choice if you want to have a villa style stay. Breakfast offers excellent fruits and nice view. The aras and cockadoos in the garden were nice. Personnel was helpful and very flexible.

Our room was a little tight to be sleeping 4. If it is a family with kids I think it is fine. But if you are mixing family and friends or groups maybe stick to two guests.

    Location was great.

As we traveled along the ocean shore in Portugal, this place stood out as the best one, according to my child! It’s conveniently located close to the main attractions, just a 10-minute walk to downtown with plenty of great restaurants. The place feels like a castle itself, offering both comfort and charm. The breakfast was delicious, and the pool provided the perfect relaxation after a day of exploring. The unit was fully equipped with everything we needed. The pictures on the website were spot on—this place is truly beautiful.

One room had a plug in air conditioner while another had a fan with no air conditioning—but not really a negative since both rooms were comfortable the evening was a stayed (might get warmer during day).

We had a wonderful one-night stay with our 3 kids (13, 8 & 6). Rooms were clean and spacious, and comfortable despite the extremely hot weather. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and a nice breakfast. Pool is best for kids who can swim without assistance as it’s fairly deep with no shallow end.

We had an apartment as we had a dog. The beds were comfortable , but, the apartment could do with a little updating. They weren't particularly pretty from the outside which is a shame as the surrounding gardens were beautiful. Also, the air conditioning units didn't work and it was very hot when we arrived. Fans were supplied, though, and the temperature dropped at night, so, it wasn't too much of a problem.

The welcome from the gentleman on reception. He was extremely helpful and friendly. The house itself was beautiful as were the gardens. The property was easy to find and we were directed to a parking area near our apartment, so, unloading our luggage was easy. The buffet breakfast which was included in the price was also good. All of the staff were very friendly.

There is no elevator. So in case of heavy luggage, you have to carry it walking up the stairs

This place is an old villa with garden, jacuzzi and swimming pool. It is well maintained, stylish and with a lot of character. Rooms are in the main villa, but also in the dependance. Our room on the first floor was large and equipped with everything. Staff at the reception was a bit distant at the beginning, but friendly afterwards. Breakfast happens in set slots which must be confirmed to the reception during the check-in. This is to avoid an overcrowded breakfast room and ensure a pleasant experience to the guests. Parking is available at location, reachable from a different entrance. The swimming pool area looks like a post card. Cozy and very nice. We could not use it due to foggy and rainy weather, but we would have used it if we had had a sunny day. Definitely a very nice stay.

This was a beautiful property in a fairytale setting. Terrific breakfast! Since this was a unique B&B in a unique town, our trip was lovely but could have been immensely more enjoyable with the following tips: -Advise where to park your car so you don't pull into the inn, only to have to back out, up a hill, onto a busy road then navigate down another lane (I know, it's Europe, but still) -Advise to take a ride-sharing service to any/all palaces and forgo the need to find a parking place in town and take the long bus rides. We allowed 3 hours to make our reservation at Pena Palace and missed it. You can't park where the palace said you can park. -Make a restaurant reservation in advance. There were several highly regarded spots but all were small and fill up fast. -Once you do park at the property, you just need to be aware there are many steps. Then depending on your room, many steps up to your room. Again, totally get it, just advise people up front.

The cleanliness of our apartment wasn't ideal, greasy handprints all up the mirrors and windows suggested young children had been in previously. Bedlinen a bit questionable. Apartment facilities are extremely basic but overall good value for the location and other amenities.

Excellent base to explore Sintra, feels like you're staying in a part of the area's rich history yet excellent value. We stayed in the annex apartment; beds were very comfortable and lovely courtyard view. The parking a huge plus. Breakfast is also a real bonus (the home-made cake is amazing), and the pool and garden space felt like the perfect end to a busy day in and around Sintra.

You have to opt for a certain time slot for breakfast.Every half an hour there’s a group of people arriving for breakfast. Sometimes all tables are busy and people have to wait. You have approximately 30 mins for breakfast including the queue for the coffee machine. The first day we wanted to have breakfast at 9 but everything was already busy. I was disappointed.

Great location and a very beautiful garden.

Stayed in a separate apartment which had issues with damp & offensive smell from drain in bathroom. Kitchenette was poorly equipped for self catering.

Good location, very peaceful, lovely gardens & wildlife with pool & jacuzzi. Superb breakfast. Added bonus of being able to park the car & utilise this facility prior to check in. Hotel was beautiful inside & very clean. Staff really friendly & helpful, with good local knowledge.

We understand the location means the stay is a bit more pricy, but we still thought is was a bit overprized for what we got. We felt the room was a bit small, but we did not need much space so this was not a problem. What we did not like so much was the smell that came from the bathroom at all times, but closing the door was all we had to do to avoid this. There was a problem with the pool, so we could only use the jacuzzi (which was great!)

The house and garden are beautiful. The centre of sintra is a walkable distance and buses go to several (crowded) hotspots. The staff was super friendly (at the reception and at breakfast).

The room got quite moist at night, though we weren't particularly bothered. The hot tub could do with a proper clean.

Nice and quiet little hotel with a beautiful garden just outside of the centre. Very practical parking given car limitations in the town. Very nice breakfast. Friendly staff.

On our last morning the woman running the dining room was very rude. My wife walked by while i checked into their limited tables to go get a seat for us which the lady took exception to and kept shouting for my wife to come back to sign in despite me being right there. She then put us in the corner away from the birds my wife wanted to be near. Good stay but this lady ruined it for us. Other staff very good.
