Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsNothing at all. We had a great and relaxing time.
Beautiful, quiet and serene Quinta in the middle of lavenders. Delicious and fresh breakfast, homemade. Everything with a personal touch. Swimming pool and rooms are very clean and well maintained. The nice owners gave us a lot of tips for excursions and restaurants :-)

NetherlandsThis is personal, but I prefer 1 double bed over 2 single beds and thought the mattress was a bit hard.
Amazing hosts, we felt very welcome. The home made breakfast was delicious. The location is stunning and close to a very nice town with good food options (Castelo de Vide).

PortugalNothing to point out. Everything was great.
Great location, calm and relaxing. Teresa and Estevão are great hosts which improve your experience. Quinta das Lavandas has great area where you can walk and see the Lavender fields. We had the opportunity to see with Estevão the lavender oil production process. We have stayed at the end of the season of lavender production and not all places were still with the plant, but it was great since we have seen how the extraction process works. Visit the dogs ( Alfa and Zema), they are very cute and friendly. Breakfast is very complete and the bedroom comfortable.

United StatesThe bed was firm for me. We stayed in the little stone house separate from the main building and despite the bed, I would stay in this little house again because it's gorgeous.
Breakfast was fantastic, staff were warm, kindly spoke English with us, and were so attentive. The views at hidden gem and the smell of the dried lavender around were magical. The thing that struck us the most was the silence and ability to hear the rustling trees as the loudest noise.

Unique property. Lavender scent was very pleasant and not overwhelming. Breakfast was very nice & we enjoyed the salt water pool. Close to town Castelo de Vide, yet out in the country. Host went out of his way to assist us. We hope to be able to return for a longer stay.

United KingdomWe would have liked a bigger bed, as it was only a small double..
Very good location on a Lavender Farm just outside the town. Wonderful place with a great swimming pool. Breakfast was included in the price and was very good, with everything that you could need. The accommodation was to a high standard and the room was very clean and tidy. Stephen (the owner) was incredibly helpful and pointed us in the right direction for wineries and olive producers in the area. He also showed us round his own olive oil facility and we sampled his oils. All in all, a very relaxed and comfortable stay Pity we got there after the Lavender had been harvested..

United KingdomCan’t think of anything negative to say
What an amazing place - a beautifully extended and modernised farm-house forming a small boutique hotel embedded in a lavender and olive farm run by a delightful couple of escapees from a life of high-finance. We were greeted by the delightful with a glass of Ginja - the local sour cherry-liqueur. The building is stylish and filled with a mix of antiques and modern pieces and art. The rooms are pleasant, clean and airy - we had our own private outside space with table and only a twin room was available but other rooms were doubles. There is the use of a large living room, cozy library-room, a pleasant pool and a very good breakfast. We came after most of the lavender had been harvested but still saw some late-cutting and the aroma was all around. We learnt from the owner, ‘Steven’ (Estevao), about the many varieties of lavender and their different characteristics and properties - there are many products to buy - and had many interesting conversations with his wife, Teresa, who manages the hospitality. The farm is set in a protected natural environment very close to several wonderful hill-top castellated towns such as Castelo de Vide and Marvao but it is hard to leave this gorgeous, peaceful, relaxing and fragrant place.we hope to return and spend longer in this enchanting place!
