Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We’re currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil, and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceIt is quite noisy. Something that could be easily fixed, is the noise the lavatory faucet made. But the door is thin and not isolated. Some teenagers were passing and chatting loudly just outside our door and I had to ask them to lower their voices. But after around 1AM (local time ;-) everything was calm.
Good location. By luck, we could park just in front of the entrance (there were more parking places nearby). Very friendly staff (we asked for a few key points for visiting Porto and the receptionist explained it better than than tourist information center!!). The room was ok, all the facilities were quite used, but apart from the noise the lavatory faucet made, everything worked.

SwitzerlandOther tenants can easily climb to the balcony of your room, but it would become too warm to sleep if you lock the window.
Several bus stops close to the hostel. It takes only a few minutes by foot to get to the river.

SwedenThe rooms have no curtains or anything to separate privacy or sounds from other guests, so you could easily get light in your face everytime someone open the door. And the location is not that central.
It has everything you need for a short stay, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom. The staff was kind to provide towels and the hostel also includes breakfast.

NorwayThe wifi was really bad in our room (but it worked well in the common rooms). The shower could use an upgrade (the shower head holder was loose and there was paint(?) peeling off the floor). The balcony was not exactly private (but we already knew that since it's shown in the pictures). There was no air conditioning so the room got a bit hot, maybe it would've been better if we could have kept the balcony door open, but due to wildfires near Porto the air was filled with smoke so we kept it shut to keep the smoke out.
Very acceptable for a budget stay. Clean room and daily housekeeping. Plenty of space in our room. Breakfast included. (The breakfast was quite basic, but for a hostel I think it was fine.) Basic kitchen but it met our needs. Quiet location. Frequent buses to the city centre. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful and always available.

NetherlandsThe pillowcases looked as though they hadn't been replaced. A little overpriced when compared with what is available for a small amount more.
Well situated to start walking the Camino. Kind, helpful staff. The restaurant above the shops opposite was surprisingly good with very friendly staff.

Belgium- Breakfast was very basic and there was a low amount of products. There was not enough serving for the amount of people. Breakfast starts at 08:30 and finishes at 10 but by 9, certain products (like cheese, tomatoes, cucumber) are already finished. When we asked for more, they said that they did not have it. Vegan milk, not always present. - The walls are thin, very. You could hear people from the corridor opening their doors.
- 10 min from the canal/river side - Not busy at all, every time we had to use the bathroom it was empty on our floor - Not too far from the center, with a taxi it is quite affordable, most of the time cheaper than a bus ticket for 2. With the bus 500, it is a very nice ride - Staff very helpful, nice and friendly. - Check in is available even past midnight - Spacious rooms with balcony

United KingdomThe neighbour's trees have grown, that was our view, and also the dirty yard. I have stayed in many youth guesthouses (Pousada de Juventude) in many countries. This one is not the best one
Everything and all the facilities works ok so for 1 night it was ok. The area feels safe, there are shops and restaurants nearby and it is 5 minutes walk to the sea front.

GermanyRooms are incredibly noisy, one shower was lit working (but also not fixed in the days we were there), google maps address shows a different location (close by but up a hill), breakfast at 20:30 and not a minute earlier creates havoc and stress for everyone who wants an early start.
It’s situated well if you are walking the Camino. It fulfills all basics.
