The only service that was not exemplary was the bar within the Palace, which was largely unstaffed and very slow. Not a massive problem, when everything else was fantastic.

My only warning is that the weddings can be a bit of an inconvenience. There were three when I was there. The first two - Liverpool and then Irish - were fine. The last one was a very large group of Flemish speaking Belgians. They were incredibly loud and spent the time around the pool shouting at each other. Left pool towels and glasses strewn all over the place. Not relaxing at all when they were there and they were there for three days. I get that the weddings are good business but .......

I like that the hotel is small and away from the touristy bit of the Algarve.

The bed mattress is a little on the firm side.

We have used this property 3 times now. It is important for me to know that it is going to be clean, comfortable and the staff very professional. This hotel is super. Each stay has been great and I wiukd recommend it to anyone wanting a 5 star property in this area if the Algarve.

Other dinners smoking on the outside terrace / eating area, so we were able to move inside for desert, but found overall in Portugal smoking seemed more common.

The breakfast had the most outstanding range of choices I have ever seen, all delicious. Pool was lovely and having the option of the small indoor pool/ jacuzi was lovely to get out of the hot sun. Our room was perfect as they had upgraded us to give us more space, which was very kind of them.

Breakfasts were ok but would have liked more choice for the English cooked breakfast as was limited in food choices. Also would have liked hot freshly cooked pancakes, but was ok for continental breakfast.

Lovely room with plenty of space and comfortable spacious beds. Beautiful grounds! Very quiet at night. Good location. Nice to sit outside on terrace with a drink at night and also for breakfast.

The thermostat was a little funky to understand. It turned off on its own and when we got back from our daily adventures it was quite warm. I also wished there was a separate small fridge besides the mini bar fridge. Not a dealbreaker but good to know if you plan on buying waters and want to keep them cold.

water pressure was a bit low for the shower, but nothing we could not manage.

The gardens and outside area are really bad. Very overgrown. Also loads of stray cats the are around your feet in the restaurant. Employees do not chase them away. Not good for 5 star hotel. Dionísio Pestana would be 😱

Not much to complain about- a few minor observations: 1. For a 5-star hotel some renovation is needed here and there 2. A bit odd having to additionally ask for a bathrobe 3. At breakfast having to take a cup from the table where you are seated to go to another room to pour tea or coffee 4. Sauna was slightly warm and hammam not working in spite of reception convincing us all was on

Quite a unique hotel, it was like staying at the museum, overall very positive impression - don’t pay to much attention to improvement points :)

I would have liked to have been given a room with a nicer view, which I requested. Although I understand it might not have been possible at the time. My room overlooked some bushes.

Incredible architecture. It's like staying in a work of art. The location and view are superb. Beautiful gardens. Great swimming pool. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms were so comfortable – huge beds.
