Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Nice large room, however the hotel is now very tired with many things broken or not working. A particular mention goes to reception staff in particular Gil. Who went out of his way to sort out issues. Thank you.

United StatesOur room did not have the large double bed we had requested, but that was quickly remedied. Fire false alarms in middle of the night were upsetting. The hot tub in the spa was not hot. The desk clerk explained that we had experienced their first concert event and that the staff was not ready for the large influx of patrons. He promised that next time would be much better.
The staff was extremely helpful. We were allowed to enjoy the spa after checking out on our second day. The restaurant was open after our concert for ala carte delicious food. The sauna in the spa was very hot.

United KingdomNothing really.
A really friendly traditional hotel right where we needed to stop over. The facilities were great but we had a storm when we arrived so couldn't use the outdoor ones and sadly didn't stay long enough to try the others. The room and ensuite were very large and traditional. Staff were great and the evening meal plus breakfast fantastic. An amazing all inclusive price for such a great hotel.

United StatesNot within walking distance to many things, but we had a car.
The staff were all friendly and although the hotel feels a little on the older side, it still feels historic and fancy. Our dinner was amazing. We did not use either the indoor or outdoor pools, but they looked great.

GermanyThe hotel wasn't recently renovated, but it covers up for that in charm. The only thing I didn't like, is that we only stayed one night.
Absolutely amazing service! Excellent staff! Starting from the warm welcome and willingness to accomodate all our needs at the reception, the small attentions in the room - biscuits & wine, to the service in the restaurant! Top notch! Lovely little wellness area, fabulous dinner. High quality products and coffee for breakfast. The views over the lawn were also very nice. Would definitely stay there again!

SwitzerlandThe style smells the 60’s. Some elements in the bathroom were rotten and the door was not working properly. The service at the restaurant was super mega extra long….. I believe they were hunting the chicken before cooking it.
The location with an giant green garden and swimming pool. The village around is calm and typical.

Portugal1. On the first day we were told that to use the outdoor pool we had to purchase bathing caps costing 5e each. It was clear that this was not so and the money was refunded. It was then explained that the caps were required for the indoor pool which we did not want to use. Howver it was quite clear that other guests were not using caps for the indoor pool. Something the hotel needs to sort out 2. one day we discovered that a private party was to be held on the outside terrace right next to the hotela with a massive set of speakers right under our bedroom window. When we asked about this we were told "this is normal" and that the party would end after11.30 PM. Only when I insisted that packing our things and moving rooms was a great inconvenience was it agreed that we could sleep in another room that night at no extra cost. We went to sleep there only to discover that unkknown to us the speakers had been transferred to the same side of the hotel as the second room and we stayed in our original room. What confusion. There was ample room in the hotel grounds for the party to be placed well away from the main hotel building. The hotel needs to address this issue properly!! 3. One night at dinner when the regular server was not there the replacement did not do their job well.
most things were very good. the option of inclusive dinner which includes excellent in-house wines is a VERY good option

Belgium- Too much light coming into the room during the night. See above comments in the +ve section. - Breakfast staff might just manage a welcoming smile or other greeting, for every 2nd or 3rd guest... - Breakfast area can be a bit cramped when the hotel is full(er). Fine on quiet days.
+ Nice location, within walking distance of the centre of town. + Friendly and helpful reception staff. + Very pragmatic and helpful housekeeping staff who came up with the perfect solution to my light problem... We had a street-side room on the ground floor. Curtains let through a lot of light, something that could - in the longer-term - easily be remedied by placing simple (rolling?) blinds on the windows. When I mentioned this, after a (short) first night, a very kind lady in housekeeping worked with the lady at reception and ensured our room was totally dark from the 2nd night of our stay onwards. Both ladies deserve a medal for the cheerful and pragmatic way they completely solved this issue. Muito obrigado!
