#1 - the Host. Sandra treated us as if we were family and made us feel very comfortable during all our stay. It will be my top choice if I ever go back to Sao Miguel. #2- Location. The accommodation is located in the north East of the island of Sao Miguel, making it an ideal hub for sightseeing around this area - Natural Park of Riberia dos Caledories, Gorreana Tea Factory, Farol do Arnel, Miradouro da Ponta do Sossego, Miradouro da Ponta da Madrugada, Cascata do Salto do Prego, etc. #3 - Village. Achada is a traditional very tranquil and picturesque town - if you are looking to be closer to nature without too many people around, that's your place. There's a couple of grocery stores in town to cover your basic needs.

Unfortunately, there is mold throughout the house. In common areas, the owner solves this with scents, but there is not much that can be done about mold in the room or on the bed. In this case, the equipment would have to be replaced and then a dehumidifier should be used to prevent mold from re-emerging.

The hostess was great, very communicative, she recommended a couple of interesting places and when we needed to solve something, she helped us. The accommodation has a beautiful view of the ocean, is located in a quiet location and is close to many beautiful places. In the kitchen you will find all the equipment you need to prepare a meal. There is even a coffee maker, ice maker and toaster. Sandra gave us local tea, homemade eggs and milk to taste. From accommodation, you can expect to meet people from different countries and exchange travel tips not only in the Azores.

I was little bit surprised, there were no closets in the room. We have stayed for 8 nights which can get complicated for two people with no option to pack off our luggage or hang on our wet clothes.

I really love the idea of a share house. It is nice to come “home” and talk to other people and hear some great stories. The owner Sandra is a treasure, very kind and helpful. And she does really great eggs for breakfast!

it was a bit more rainy for the time of the year, but c’est la vie :)

This was my third time staying at the guesthouse, as always my stay was lovely. The stay here is different than staying in a hotel since it’s a house you are staying in. It’s just much more personal and you can get in touch with the other guests and Sandra, the amazing owner and her family. The house has an amazing view of the ocean at the front and make sure you do the short hike to the old village and the super-short-but-hard hike to the cliffs for some great kodak-moments!

Other two guests seemed to be long term residents and literally occupied the kitchen and the restroom. In the house was extremely cold, colder than outside. Even though the host gave us a heater in the evening it didn't help much since we had just short overnight stay. Other facilities were hard to stay in unless you have a winter jacket on.

The host Sandra is an amazing person. Very friendly and full of kind energy. The house is decorated with mostly vintage furniture, I loved it! The interior is made of solid wood which gives the house a richness. Big rooms, huge bathroom, fully equipped kitchen. Good location.

we did not rent a car because it was ridiculously expensive ! In Achada, there is no restaurant, just a little mercado, and taxis are not always available. It’s better to have a car or a bike. However, we managed to visit what we wanted.

The house has a great view, and is very quiet. Sandra is very helpful, enthusiastic and always happy ! 3 bathrooms are available, and you can enjoy the sunset from the balcony or the terrace…

The place is a bit remote from the things to visit in Sao Miguel. It could have been a bit cleaner and there was this weird moldy odour of the towels and the room. Also, one bathroom is not enough when there are people occupying all the rooms so we had to wait every time we wanted to use the bathroom.

It was a fair accommodation for the price we paid.

Sharing one bathroom is part of the guest house- but it’s hard when many people need to use it. The towels were super stinky. They don’t have dryers in Azores so getting the towels dry I’m sure is hard. But I couldn’t use the towels provided they were so stinky and so I just used my beach towel I had.

Sandra, the host, is so accommodating and sweet! She is so friendly and sweet to our kids. She even gave them a gift as they left. The rooms were good for the price. Our previously booked place fell through so this was a great value for a last minute nights stay for a big family of 8.

There was a broken toilet in the bathroom near our room, so had to share another one with quite many guests. The room was pretty cold in the evening and in the night, a heater or warmer blankets would be appreciated.

We have booked the room at Sandra´s house just a few hours before arrival as we could not sleep outside due to the weather. We were surprised by the low price and did not have many expectations, but the house was really nice, the host absolutely welcoming, ready to help and provide you with anything she could. There is a small grocery near the house and the view from the house was stunning.

Big house in small village, surrounded by beutiful nature and several places for hiking. It has shared bathroom, the bedroom was cold, ask for warm blanket (February), the kitchen is fully equipped so buy your own food to cook, also there was not any open restaurant near the house.

This is a summer house so it's empty, cold and, due to the island's high humidity, very musty in winter. It would be great to have a desk and chair in room, as the bed is not too comfortable for computer work.

Awesome location for exploring Nordeste, super warm owner, privacy. If you love to do your own thing and have lots of space, it's perfect. We asked for a heater for our room and got one immediately. Good base for the north in winter and fine if you're out all day.

The key was somehow broken, which resulted in an open door all day. But Sandra tried to help me right away. Furthermore it was a bit cold in the room (middle of December). Furthermore there was no soap or salt pepper and oil.

Very big clean room. Nice shared valcony with ocean view. Sandra was also so lovely. She is just a nice lady.

Problem with parking in front of the house, high probability of damage to the car's chassis.

Old house with soul. It was noticeable that we were out of season because there were no owners on house. We had to wait for someone to come and let us in, but we have no objections. THANK YOU.
