Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Great location in small village 15-20min to historic Evora and groceries. Ample kitchen cooking utensils, pots and pans for making meals. Lovely host.

United KingdomNothing all good.
Spacious well equipped rooms with a mix of modern and vintage furnishing that worked well together. The host was very welcoming and helpful. Everything was spotlessly clean, the beds were very comfy with quality linen. Located in a village which had a local café and village shop, with the friendly villagers happy to spend time chatting and being very tolerant of my terrible Portuguese. The room included breakfast which the local café provided, which we decided to take back to the accommodation, was massive with a whole loaf, big pot of Jam, a roll of local cheese, whole tub of butter and a bag of apples. Lots of outdoor space and a pool too.

Hearty welcome by Benedita. Apartment has a very nice appearance, is modern and the kitchen is fully equipped. Parking is easy and free on private property. Located somewhat outside of Évora, you should have a car available.

Hong KongI wish Evora was less commercial.
Our host Benedita greeted us as we got out of the car, she was forewarned by her overactive but cute dog Leia; she recruited her daughter Rachel to translate as a go-between for the check-in (thanks Rachel). We later managed very well on our own with a mixture of English, Portuguese, Spanish and a bit of French. Benedita offered us the use of her laundry room for free which we graciously accepted on the spot. You just cannot wish for a better host, we felt that we were treated like family. Thanks Benedita, please say Hello to Luke (her other dog that I wish I could take home).

United KingdomThe house was very spacious and clean, with a kitchen and dining area as well as a bedroom, bathroom with shower and a sitting area. You also have use of the host's garden (the pomegranites were lovely) and pool, and a patio area to watch the sunset. We purchased food before we arrived, although there are a few places to eat nearby and there is a small shop in the village. We had breakfast at a local cafe which was great fun (take a phrase book if you don't speak Portuguese). We only stayed two nights but would have loved to stay longer. Our host Benedita was very helpful and her dogs were very friendly.

Spacious, clean, secure, well equipped. Friendly hostess (her English was limited, but we understood each other with a little effort) - she lives in the complex. We found it easy enough to drive to various places, and the extra driving was trivial given how much we saved in rent.

PortugalExtremely friendly staff, a family project that keeps evolving. It's really like staying at home, and during those days we feel like that place is our home. Great exterior areas with pool, lawn, plenty of flowers trees etc, and a bbq area with nice tables and a swing chair. Plus the whole facilities have been carefully adapted for reduced mobility, which wasn't our case but we value the effort that has been taken, it shows dedication and love for their project. We also became easily integrated with the local social places such as the little cafeteria where we were served breakfast, or the little pub where we met people and had a beer. It seems like it's a bit far away from Evora but no, it's really just 10 minutes by car and a very easy drive. We didn't try calling an uber or taxi so not sure how easy that is. The hosts were very relaxed with the check-out, specially because there were no guests coming in immediately - they let us take our time and even allowed us to remain in the picnic and pool area during the afternoon after checking out, which shows they wanted us to enjoy our stay, and not to behave as customers. It's located very close to many megaliths, ruins and natural monuments so works great as a base from where to explore the area. Works very well and comfortably for a large group by providing various contiguous houses we can book, thus having people evenly distributed with a good amount of area, sitting places and WCs.

GermanyI’m not sure what qualifies this place as a four-star facility. It’s all good and well, but it’s just a holiday home in the country side, nothing special about it. And for that, it was a bit pricy. The breakfast in particular was subpar. It’s a cute idea to let people have breakfast in a nearby café, but if the owner doesn’t speak a word of English and brings random food; most of which is not really what we would have liked, it’s not exactly the experience (in terms of choice and quality) of a four-star hotel. Suggestion to the hosts: Let people choose from a list of breakfast options the evening before and have that served (like you would in a real hotel e.g. if you have breakfast in the room). This would create less confusion, and less waste of food served but not eaten at the café. Suggestion to travelers: Book without breakfast and bring your own or go to Evora.
Very friendly host. Spacious room; in fact an entire appartment. The entire facility incl. the bathroom is wheelchair-accessible (not that we needed it, but it’s good to see that it was taken care of). Nice surroundings.
