The parking is a little difficult, but manageable.

The breakfast was a wonderful surprise! Homemade jellies, butter and bread. Fresh eggs from their farm, and fresh squeezed orange juice. Really sweet and polite staff who really cared about our stay. Luis is a spectacular host and has made his great, great grandfather's home into a special one of a kind stay. Amazing value for the money, I have spent twice as much and received much less in return. I will be going back next time I'm in Coimbra.

Lovely guest house that was once an elegant home. Breakfast was plentiful and with fresh orange juice. Rooms were comfortable. Edgar was very helpful orienting us to the sites of Coimbra. Area is outside of city center so easy parking and then Uber’ed to town.

We enjoyed our stay here immensely and highly recommend ORYZA Guest House. Edgar greeted us and showed us all round, explained how to reach him with any questions at any time. Breakfast was delicious with fresh eggs, croissants, fruit, juice, coffee etc plus a fresh cake baked in the afternoon to enjoy. Rooms were clean and comfortable bed.

This property is stunning. The gardens, the house, the area all amazing. Was one of our favorite parts of Portugal. The host Luis could not of been more friendly or accommodating.

The history and the beautiful buildings and the farm on-site were exceptional. The service from the welcome to the breakfast was above average. I would recommend this location to anyone visiting Coimbra, it’s close enough to visit all the sites but out enough to be quiet.

The room was quite small, but we were hardly there.

The breakfast was fruit, pastries, scrambled egg, cake, preserves, very generous and served at the table. The host was very helpful in suggesting restaurants. It was very easy to drive into the town & park in a large free undercover car park by the bridge. The weather wasn’t good, so we didn’t take advantage of the outdoor area or pool, but it looked nice.

The property has been in the same family for over 3 generations. Luís and his brother did a wonderful job of updating all the facilities while keeping the authentic charm and ambience of a Portuguese home and farm. The staff were great, the breakfasts were all homemade and organic, and the location perfect for easy jaunts into Coimbra.

barking dogs next door kept me awake during the night, probably difficult issue to solve for Luis & Edgar

very authentic place just outside the city centre, easy to reach by taxi. Luis & Edgar, and the ladies are just fantastic. Breakfast in the garden (fruit & eggs from the garden, every day fresh cake & juice for the guests, you feel at home. Very good rooms with modern facilities. THank you Luis, Edgar & ladies!

Further away from Coimbra center than expected. You need a car.

An old house that has been restored with a lot of dedication by the owners. A small museum in itself. Good, spacious rooms and good breakfast. Very friendly owner.

Everything was more than perfect!

I recommend this apartment. It is not only absolutely beautiful but also very comfy. The breakfast was insanely good, probably the best thing we had in Portugal so far. Luis, who greeted us very warmly, was very nice and helpful as well :)

Nothing not to love

It was a real privilege to stay at Oryza Guest House. Not only is it very beautiful, it is full of history. Edgar and Luis are wonderful hosts who are very happy to share the history of the house and also help you with anything you may need to know. The breakfast was amazing...with fresh produce (eggs, berries, figs etc) from the abundant gardens and orchard attached to the property. It is only a 5 minute drive to free parking and then a 3 minute walk into the historical centre of Coimbra...or even easier a 5 euro (approx) uber. Coimbra is a very beautiful city and well worth visiting. We would happily have stayed longer at Oryza and I highly recommend to others.

it was quiet relaxing lovely room and our host Edgar was excellent he wanted us to feel that his home was our home even freshly baked cake every afternoon so helpful with restaurants! we left our car there and caught an Uber to the University and back for a few euro perfect !!

This is a very comfortable place to stay, close location to Coimbra (we used Uber to travel into the town). It was so nice to rest in the garden after a busy day!

Everything!! The place is superb, very well maintained, cozy and classy at the same time Every perfectly chosen touch is unique in a historic house . Luis is an exceptional host and I definitely recommend his place. If you think it’s far from the city centre, well , it is not. You can easily drive or get an Uber . Would definitely stay again , also loved Coimbra!
