Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalThe whole apartment needs some remodelations, the windows, doors and floor show signals of degradation. The flush toilet and the air conditioner made some strange noises while operating. The noise of people dragging the chairs outside of the apartment during the morning and at night.
Great location, very close to the beach and the hotel minimarket has some useful items. Amazing breakfast, a great variety and tasteful.

United KingdomPool space was quite small for the number of guests in the hotel. The same applies to the other public spaces in the evening.
The rooms were of a decent size. Staff were helpful. Breakfast (we were only B&B) was really nice… food was good.

IrelandNeed to hire hairdryers for room(€10 refundable deposit). Not great hairdryers, need to hold button constantly to work , just for anyone who is considering bringing one with them. Snacks such as pizza, baguettes at pool side bar are OK but they ran out of items quickly but again not a major issue. There is a steep hill down to beach but hotel does have lift which can bring you down to that level (incase anyone has mobility issues).
Great location near beach, less than 6 mins in taxi to old town, plenty of transport available. Clean, large welcoming reception area with complimentary water. Bar located next to reception area as well as pool aoife one. Rooms were clean, spacious, balcony with seats& table and sea view. Fridge in rooms, great to keep water/ snacks in. Staff were friendly, supermarket on site which was really handy. Plenty of loungers by the pool, which is also super close to the beach. You can hire beach towels at reception, refundable deposit which saves on packing!

SpainThe hotel is disjointed and doesn't flow well. Pool is a completely separated area. From pool to restaurant is a bit of a hike. Avoid hotel if you have mobility issues.

Canadathis resort is very noisy. After a long day when you just want to rest, the rest of the clients are ready to party down. I cannot count how many nights I was awoken by clients coming home yelling and screaming on their way to their rooms (at 5 am) If you are looking for rest this is not the resort to come to.

United KingdomThe hotel is old and in need of renovation across the entire site. Cleaning was basic. We were on the floor just below the dining room - although we had a beautiful view and a very large wrap-around balcony - the noise from people scraping their chairs above was truly bad. Soundproofing between rooms is non-existent - so definitely take ear-plugs! In spite of the enthusiasm and effort of the team - the entertainment left rather a lot to be desired...! My final gripe - although the hotel is located on the beach - sun loungers and umbrellas here (not around the pools) were charged at 20 Euros a day (1 umbrella and 2 loungers). It's the first time I have ever been to a beach hotel where there's a charge to use the facilities. It's worth noting as if you're going specifically for the beach and hoping to use the facilities - then this could be quite a significant addition to your costs.
The staff at the hotel were exceptional. Very informative and helpful - Carla at reception was outstanding - and deserves a special mention. The staff in the restaurant were consistently numerous and always smiling (it really does make a difference - so this was really lovely). In spite of the 'aged' hotel (stuck somewhere circa 1994) - the food was very, very good. There was such a variety - so many lovely, healthy dishes (I was worried it was going to be 'everything with chips' - but this was absolutely not the case at all). Everything was always replenished, both at breakfast and dinner - and there was such a vast choice - I really couldn't find fault. The hotel is situated far enough out of the town for it not to impact one's stay - yet is easily reached if necessary in a 10 minute taxi ride. The hotel also has direct (easy) access to a long beach - which was lovely for walks etc.

United Kingdomevening entertainment could have been better however we weren't over bothered as there are a couple of pubs close by if you want a change
Rooms were great and we had a sea view too. Drinks and food were all fine and as we were a group of 10 people suited us. Pool area was also fine with no issues getting a sunbed. It is located on the beach and you can walk easily to the old town .
