Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe bathroom was small and had a strange smell, which mostly dissipated once the door was left open. The sink and shower were small (remember the property was an old monastery) and the way the shower was slanted, made it slippery. The breakfast was good, and was serve yourself. If you wanted anything special (eggs), you only needed to ask the staff. The coffee was not particularly good, but we were used to cappuccinos. The room above ours (room 1) was a small sitting room and the floors creaked when someone walked - as a light sleeper, this woke me up. I wasn't a fan of the street Mo House was located on, as it was dark and had a fair amount of construction going on; however, there is a charming small Italian restaurant across the street and just down to the left is a large area with about 5 restaurants and street performers. We were in Porto at the time of the 2024 fires which were only 30 km south of Porto (by the time we left, it had burned over 25,000 acres) and the air was thick with smoke, which made the views of the city and sitting outside less desirable. All that said, we were extremely pleased with the location and would likely stay there again.
Our host, Sabastian, was fabulous! He had to stay a bit late to greet us as our train from Lisbon was delayed, and we didn't reach the hotel until after 8 PM. He gave us a bit of history on the hotel and provided a map of the area, circling the key attractions, which were all easy walking distance from the property. He kindly secured an early morning taxi to pick up. The property is a unique boutique hotel with less than 10 rooms which use to be a monastery. The room had loads of character had wonderful, exposed beams, heavy shutters which kept the room quiet and dark (we are both light sleepers and this is important, fantastic concrete benches off the windows. The room had a small kitchenette with a refrigerator and coffee maker. Each day, there was a carafe of water with mint. The bed was comfortable and the room fairly spacious. The room was made up nicely each day. The breakfast room was located one floor below.

AustraliaThere were stains on the sheets/blanket and shoe prints on the floor (didn’t wear our shoes in the room).
Loved the location to the conference centre (not sure what it was called!) and the surrounding city.

CanadaMo House and their lovely staff were extremely accommodating, making sure our room was ready for an early check-in and also allowing us to store a piece of luggage during our Camino. We loved our room looking out onto the river. It offered a bright space and welcoming respite after a long day of sightseeing and exploring in Porto. It was also conveniently located near our top pick for dinner. And in the morning, you’re greeted with a wonderful spread for breakfast!

CanadaWe loved our room, but the only piece of feedback to give, was that the toilet area was quite small and narrow.
The building is beautifully restored and renovated, providing a unique accommodation in the historic centre of Porto. The breakfast was exceptional - lots of variety to cater to all needs of the guests. The staff are great at communicating, helping to make reservations for dinner - thank you to Sebastian and the team!

United KingdomIf I went again I would request a room at the back as there was a bit of noise at the front in the early hours of the morning.
In the bustling busy city of Porto, Mo House is a little slice of tranquility, central positioned and so serene once you step inside. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the beds and bathrooms lovely. The breakfast was delicious and the reception staff so helpful. Nice bonus to be able to check out at 12 too!

United StatesNothing could have been better!
What a special welcome we received from very friendly Diana at Mo House. We instantly felt like friends and at home! She gave us local Porto information, showed us around, and even took us up to our Family Room on the top floor with gorgeous views over Porto's rooftops and the Douro River to Gaia. The pretty smell in the room when we arrived was incredible! Our room had two separate bedrooms, the second included a twin bed and second loft bed, along with a bathroom, and combo living room with sofa and kitchen with table. There was plenty of space for our family of 3 to spread out. We loved the fact that the Mo House has an elevator to eliminate the need to walk the steps. The included breakfast was awesome including Scrambled Eggs, delicious Avocado Toast, Pastel de Nata, small grain chocolate croissants, fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee. Mo House is a wonderful place to receive some individual attention in busy Porto! Sebastian also helped us with a dinner reservation. Please do not hesitate to book and stay at the Mo House during your stay in Porto. The central location is excellent to walk around the city in different directions up to the historical center or down to the riverfront and across the bridge to Gaia. I don't believe there is a better location in Porto, and it is away from any current construction. Thank you so much Diana for your excellent hospitality and making our family feel so special during our time in Porto! Best Wishes!

LebanonEverything was perfect.
Mo House was the absolute best! I had arrived way too early for check-in and the staff's response was to offer me a free breakfast and have my room ready right away! They were also very friendly and helpful in terms of recommendations. The accommodation itself was exactly as portrayed in the pictures, beautiful and tasteful. Not to mention extremely clean! The location was perfect, very central but in a quiet street. The view on the river is so gorgeous and exceeded my expectations. Overall, I am really happy I got to stay there and will make it a point to come back next time I visit Porto!
