The room was not nice, is an old building, very steep stairs. We stayed in the attic. One of the electric sockets in the room was completely loose and came off, mattress was hard, bedding was discoloured. Not even a night lamp. Shower was very small and shower room, even though it was cleaned, looked mouldy. We arrived late at night, did self check in, spoke to someone on the phone to get the keys which was ok. But we were told we had to pay extra for arriving late which has no sense if the self check in was fine (we didn’t pay after all). Communication with the place was a bit weird. It’s four rooms per floor, a bathroom in each floor and a kitchen. Location is perfect tho.

There was hardly ever anyone there in reception, my room was right next to it, and in the 6 nights I was there, I saw someone there once! Also my room had no lock, anyone could walk in at anytime which left me feeling a little unsettled! The black mould in the bathroom was pretty terrifying, and only 2 bathrooms for the entire hostel/hotel. No real common areas or hostel vibe at all here!

My room had bed bugs. I am leaving with a terrible skin condition and it was very uncomfortable. My first night is when I realised something was wrong, so the next day when I spot a few bugs on my bed I got my room changed. I was able to use a fresh clean sheet of my own so I was at peace but on my final morning I woke up with a terrible allergy and now I’m struggling for the rest of my trip in Portugal. Their rooms are not worth the price. There are either no windows or windows that have no curtain, only covered with paper towels which are obviously flimsy and let light in. The guests are loud. Or it’s probably just the super crammed set up of the place. I enjoyed making friends with the hosts, but that’s it.

The staff is helpful. They are friendly and I feel bad leaving a not so good review for my stay but the only good thing was the staff.

The room was small and the pillows/bed hard. We didn't mind as we were only there to sleep, however we were fortunately upgraded to a room with a "window" meaning skylight. This helped immensely as we were able to let some fresh cool air in.

Location was incredible - walking distance to many popular areas and great restaurants. Room wasn't as noisy as some as the other reviews mention, but it's dependant on who's staying around you. The streets in this location were fairly quiet.

The window had no curtain and window cannot be closed properly, the noise is all over at the middle of the night. You cannot lock the door at night. There is no charging for the top bed, very difficult to move around. The pillow is cheap. Noise at the top floor.

We had no window in our room which was terrible. The air felt clammy and with one night sleep we woke up feeling horrible. Some of the other rooms had windows and seemed nice enough so if booking make sure you have a window. The bed was ok not great and the shower was good enough. Staff was nice but when I asked to move about the window there was no other alternative

It’s very noisy at night because it is in a busy area and we had to Jew the windows open in order to have some fresh air in the otherwise very small and hot room. The bed was very uncomfortable

I thought the bedding and bath towel were not very well sanitized. Also in my opinion, I found the point of the Hostel too tiring for routine walks. It is at a very high point, many climbs and descents.

I found the people who work at the Hostel very nice and attentive.

My private room was downstairs and it had a clear humidity/mould problem. After staying two days there i needed to wash everything because of the smell. So for people of astma or alergy would be pretty much impossible to stay there. No windows as well. The room had airconditioning, but it didnt really help for the smell.

The private room was big, and it had a tiny kitchen as promised. No cooking equipments thou.
