Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaAirplane noise was disturbing, especially at night. Electrical outlet in bedroom was falling out of the wall and seemed unsafe. Owner could have been more responsive to our needs.
Location was convenient to the metro and about an hour’s walk to downtown. Grocery shopping was nearby, too.

BulgariaI missed only 2 extremely small things while staying in the apartment (but I am sure the host Anne-Lise will provide them after my comment): - hotel slippers - after 10 hours of being out all day long, in the evening you want to take off your walking shoes, also I needed them when going out of the bath tub or after a shower; - a mat in front of the bath tub (but I put a towel on the floor). You can hear airplanes monoeuvering to and from the airport but only during the day - they were not flying between 23 p.m. and 6 a.m. So when you are out all day long this is not a big issue.
Perfect location - 5 min walk from both metro lines - red and blue. Very clean and compact apartment, perfect for a couple. Extremely easy to get the keys. Very helpful and kind host (although we did not encounter any problem during our stay). Despite the little bit outdated furniture in the kitchen, it has a microwave, a big fridge, hot plates and and oven, a toaster, a coffee machine, hot water heater, a lot of cutlery, cups and glasses, a washing machine, no dishwasher. We stayed in October and we did not need neither heating nor cooling but there was a heating device in the bedroom. The terrace is very nice and good for smokers - with a small table and two chairs. Good ratio between quality and the price. A bakery and a grocery shop just across the street and a Liddle 5 min away, also many small local restaurants and bistros around. In general - I recommend strongly staying in the apartment!

RomaniaThere was a problem with a pipe in the bathroom which leaked and had to turn off the water. It was fixed the following day.
I really liked a lot of things: location, close to the metro station, a lot of bars and restaurants nearby, parks and museums also quite close. I also enjoyed the warm and sunny weather although it was windy especially in the morning and in the evening and it became chilly. The flat is nice and comfortable for 2 people.

AustriaIt was little too loud for us, as the isolation of the Windows is not perfect, so you hear the cars passing by and the planes too, as they pass there at take off.
Cozy clean place, host is very responsive and nice, the metro is 3min walking away, there was even a garage we got to park our car for free (dont go there with a big car as it is very narrow).

NetherlandsI booked an apartment in September and made an agreement a few days in advance that we come earlier and wanted to check in. The owner agreed on those pre-arrangements. When we came at around 11:40, no one was in the apartment and Anne-Lise did not pick up the phone for 15-20 minutes. I thought to book another apartment, since it was not clear, if we get our rented apartment or not. My wife managed to reach Anne-Lise half an hour later. Most probably she simply forgot to inform us about the code for the safety box, where we found the keys. Instead the owner came up with an excuse that the apartment should have been ventilated after the previous guest! Another strange request came a couple of days before our arrival that we have to make a bank transfer and pay for the apartment in advance. I refused such type of payment and left cash in the table before leaving, since no one came to pick up the money nor give us guidance concerning the area around. One disadvantage of the apartment is a small kitchen. If you are planning to cook a lot, it might be an issue. There is no parking at the apartment, so you have to find a spot on the public area, which might be challenging. You should get used how to open the entrance door. There is a trick how to do it. I was informed that the taxi would cost 10-12 euro. I paid 26 euro at the end...
The apartment itself is good for vacation or for 1-2 days stay. It is not far from the airport, close to a few supermarkets and restaurants. We came with a baby, so Anne-Lise arranged a crib and toys for our kid. Overall, I don’t have any complaints about the apartment. It may get fresh in winter months but there are a couple different of heaters that you can use to warm up the flat.

GermanyThe apartement is extremly noisy. You can hear the airplanes and the cars from the street. On top there was construction work. The windows are not isolated. I couldn't work nor sleep in the apartment. The only quite space was the bathroom. When I contacted the owner on this behalf she was more than unfriedly saying that the windows are well isolated which is simply not true. Also furniture is a little used and the aparment doesn't look like on the pictures.

Spain- It is noisy. Even with the windows closed and the blinds down completely, it is just beside a busy two lane street and it's loud. - The apartment feels like someone lives there and they just leave when someone is coming. - The sofa bed it’s really uncomfortable. - Please think of your worst parking experience ever and now multiply it by 1000. EXTREMELY narrow. I contacted the host several times asking for a picture or video (which she never sent) of the parking as she said the parking was narrow. I told her that my car was large (citroen Picasso) and that I was very worried. She told me it would be fine for parking at -2 as she parks her Mercedes E Station Wagon. The moment I just got the first ramp down, it was pure terror. I straight ahead contacted the host for help, as I was just in panic since suddenly the parking was at -4 and not anymore at -2. I asked her if I could just park it at -1, she said no. I asked if I could park it at -2 and she said no. She offered me to help me park it, and I said yes, but then she completely forgot she had told me so. In despair, even crying, I asked her for help as this was the most horrible parking situation I had ever encountered. She then said to not bother her as she was busy and if I wanted to cancel the reservation. Imagine that… just out of humanity, not helping someone in need (and in need because of your parking space). She then said that the parking was free. Sure, it’s free, but if you are travelling with a car is a MASSIVE selling point. Eventually I managed to take it to -4 reversing hand break on the narrow ramps corners. When I got down, I was shaking. I asked her if she could help me take it out as I was terrified. She said NO! That night I didn’t sleep at all thinking I had to take the car out. As I was leaving the apartment, she said I hadn't left the car park card. When I inquired about an official document for city tax, she found it offensive. I have proof of all. Worst host experience ever.
The marble work on the appartment, in the bathroom and in the kitchen, its original and beautiful. The rest feels a bit old, although functional.

CanadaReally enjoyed our stay. Comfortable bed and loved the balcony. The host was so kind and accommodating. We also really loved the style and decor. Great taste with so many interesting items. We had a bit of trouble with the water heater due to gas fluctuations. Our host was quick to assist over the phone. A new sticker to indicate the button positions and additional matches (as the starter is broken) to start the pilot would be helpful.
