Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanIt says they accept card payment but could not pay the city tax with card. We didn't have any cash and if you don't have it or access to ATM, bank transfer, should choose other place. Or prepare some cash.
Coffee, kettle, hair dryer, there are everything you need to stay.

PolandThe place is spotless clean, very cosy and comfortable. Kitchen and bathroom super equipped. Graca neighbourhood is perfect - rather quiet, old, very accesible (walking distance to Alfama) and easy to walk around. Plenty of cafes / bars/ shops / restaurants. If I ever come back to Lisbon I will definietely pick this place again! Worth to be mindful of the general humidity in the old building (and in the coastal city), so its a good idea to open windows frequently. Not causing any problems at all.

RomaniaThe neighbours were extremely loud. Not really an issue for us but it's something to keep in mind if you're looking for a quiet place. Not a dislike but a suggestion: a hanger in the small hallway would be useful.
The apartment was clean and had all the facilities. The neighbourhood was nice with lots of good restaurants and supermarkets ( I recommend Pingo Doce for groceries and tasty affordable breakfast) 20 min walk to the city center self check in, comfortable bed Overall, good value for the money. We would stay there again.

United KingdomThere was a slight smell in the bathroom which I assume was coming from the drain as everything was very clean - not a big issue at all.
It was a very comfortable apartment and had everything we needed for a short stay. Good location although every walk home required an up-hill hike! The air conditioning in the apartment was a luxury in the hot weather and the bottle of rosé left out for us on arrival was a nice touch.

PolandEverything was ok. However, would suggest a few improvements for added comfort of the stay: - Dampness in the flat. Feels it would benefit from dealing with the wet rot in the corrner of the kitchen and shower or at least a good electric dehumidifier and some upgrading of shower drainage. - Also would suggest the key entry to the flat with a safety box rather than just a code entry. Appriciate there is an entry phone to the building and you were able to lock the additional lock from the inside of the apartment when in. Unfortunately, the code lock just did not feel very safe when leaving all your belonging for the whole day.
A nice small slef-contained unit in a fairly quiet street. Fitting for a couple or a single traveller. This accomodation is a clear conversion of a larger flat devided into smaller units. Nevertheless, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Good standard of facilities and cleanliness. Comfortable bed. Bonus features: The accommodation has cool design showing the antiseismic structures used in old buildings in Lisbon. Code entry so self-checking not a problem at any time. Self-catering possible as there is a tiny kitchenette with 2 ring electric hob. Small undercouter fridge working well. Just be mindful there is no oven (only microwave) and only limited kitchen accessories. Coffee machine and kettle in good working condition. Plenty of truly local food and coffee places arround :) shops near-by. Stayed for a week and without issues. Neighbourhood seemed ok. The street looked like a lot of old buildings getting renowated to be turist accomodations with also a lot of local residential flats. Occasional loud noises from within accomodation, accross the street and everyday life outside. The building itself is old so expect some soundproofing issues and the ever present issues with dampness. This semes an ongoing theme in all our stays in Portugal. Nothing that earplugs can't handle really and just ensure you maintain good ventilation and a wee bit of air refresher ;). Very pleasant and responsive host. Good value for money. Convinient location with walkable distances to a lot of places of interest. Very good access to public transport, plenty of buses in all directions, famous tram 28 just around the corner and just a short stroll to the green line of metro.

Serbia-The AC was the only heating we had, and it was fine, but it took many many hours to heat up the apartment. I guess since the Portugal is hot country people usually don't need heating elements. We had nice blankets so it worked out okay in the end. - Another small thing was that there weren't really places to dry our towels in the bahtroom. Since the bathroom has no windows and only one small fan, the towels usually didn't dry out before the next use and it felt humid inside most of the time. I guess for shorter stays it's fine, but for 7+ days it can be inconvenient. However, there happens to be slef service laundry facility across the street which worked out pretty well!
It looks very nice and it feels cozy. The Fernando host was super nice and everything went smoothly regarding our arrival. Also, he had a space for us to keep our bags until our flight once we checked out. It was clean and the apartment is pretty silent during the night. I would recommend this place if you're first time in Portugal!

Ukrainethe apartment is split in very small rooms, it’s really hard to even find a place to unpack your bag if it is big and of course this is an old building without elevator, so you need to pull the bags on the first floor

CroatiaThe only thing we disliked was the noise from the street and the neighbours, since the building is old and not very soundproof.
The apartment is quite small, but it has everything a couple needs for a stay. The bed is comfy and the kitchen is well equipped. Location of the apartment is great, close to bus and tram stations as well as multiple restaurants and bars. We did not meet our host in person, but nonetheless the communication was great and we got responses quickly.

NetherlandsThis flat needs huge upgrade. Everything was old and the floor choice was completely wrong for kitchen and bathroom area. There were molds everywhere and it was really hard to stay in the room because of smell. Moreover all of the sinks were clogged including the shower so it was not easy to take shower or even washing your hands/face.
There were different commute options to go to the city center or other parts of the lisbon but the location of the property was not easy for walking around.
