The food in the hotel is very expensive, in particularly the lunch we ordered at the pool was extremely overpriced. The waiters agreed with us that the portions were extremely small (more like a bite than a lunch). We spoke with the manager, but this conversation was also very disappointing. You expect the prices to be higher in a hotel like this (the lunch we had in the hotel restaurant was still within the range), but in the bar and at the pool we just felt completely conned with their prices. Leaves a bad taste. The food in the Michelin star and other top rated restaurants was much better value for money

We paid for a standard room so keep this in mind. I am sure that if we had upgraded, the conditions would have been different. Our room was on the 1st floor/basement...it was a walk out level with nice patio. The carpets all along the hall were cut in pieces and bleached in spots. Really not a nice welcome as you're lead down a flight of stairs and feel as though you are walking into a basement. Just a very scrappy feeling. The hotel smells VERY strongly of cologne/perfume. Nice for some perhaps but way too strong for our liking.

Views and location are absolutely incredible. Close to old town and the beaches. Staff very pleasant.

Amazing location being right at the ocean side, exceptional staff looking after you and great rooms and decoration. After deciding to stay another night, we were offered an upgrade on the house. Really looking forward to coming back here!

something of a faberege egg. Slightly pretentious atmosphere all round. Food was good but overpriced. drinks were well overpriced. breakfast included was satisfactory but nothing special. the main issue was the maintenance- for a five star hotel, you don’t expect shoddy tiling in the pool, bathroom and appliances that don’t work. especially considering the art on the wall that they are trying to flog you. overall, trying to be something it’s not, and not getting the basics right for the money

The location is good, the other side of the marina about a 10 minute walk from the main square. beautiful view from poolside and friendly staff in the pool bar/breakfast restaurant. Concierge also helped us deal with a hire car issue which was very much appreciated.

For the value, we felt the room (202) did not meet the standard of a 5 star hotel. The bedding was ok, not great. There were really no additional touches that made us feel we were staying in a 5 star hotel other than all of the artwork installed in the hotel. The breakfast was nice, but "typical". There was nothing "over the top" about the breakfast offering, and, in fact, when I asked for an omelet the first morning it felt as though I was imposing upon the kitchen. We felt the pool offerings were just ok. Sometimes we had to get our own towels, and there was no active service asking if we wanted something to eat or drink (as we would expect from a 5 star hotel). The lounges were hard and uncomfortable.

Hotel’s interior is dated and poorly maintained. The carpet in the suite was worn and the cleanliness levels aren’t meeting the acceptable standards. The breakfast selection doesn’t come near 5 star hotel.

The hotel and room was very clean but they use highly scented cleaning products or sprays which makes it unpleasant to walk into the room after a day of sightseeing. Had to open the window with the AC on to get the scent out.

Our first room (in the attic) was uninhabitable due to a dangerous and hazardous large tall wooden beam structure running across the room from the bottom of the bed, essentially dividing the room into two. (I think there are eight of these rooms). The hotel moved us the next day to a room which was far more agreeable. The level of service and training of staff was far below the level that one would expect from a five star hotel given the pricing of @500 euros per night. The hotel is tired and needs updating, in many areas the carpet is stained with what looks like it could be bleach, and feels grubby.

We liked the location of the property and the staff on the front desk were doing their best to be helpful and accommodating.

Staff were average. Hotel tries to be too cool. My room had a manakin in it! Freaky. Oh the bell boy scratched my car helping us with a carry on bag that we didn't need help with and 'oh sorry' but done nothing to offer to pay for repair. Car scratched all down one side thanks Farol. Go to the Albatroz much classier and better location oh and better bfast

I booked two rooms and canceled one three days in advance as it was a refundable rate and the hotel still charged me. I tried to talk to the manager in person and she wouldn’t meet with me and refused to give even a partial refund or hotel credit. I will continue to ask but I am not optimistic. Her customer service was horrid I wouldn’t recommend my friends or family stay here based on my interactions thus far. The staff in general were kind though-so it is a bummer that my experience was ruined. For me this 5 star hotel doesn’t have 5 star customer service. I’d also say if you have a room with a full sea view you may end up mostly with this view of an ugly metal top, ruins any pictures you want to take (including picture here).
