Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIt wasn’t the easiest place to meet people just because of the sheer size of it but maybe I was just being a bit lazy and didn’t actively try to meet people
Clean and comfortable! Heaps of showers and toilets which were also kept very clean. Privacy curtains on each bunk with individual power points and lights. The staff also helped me print out some tickets I needed. The location is also very good! There is no stove in the kitchen but they do have a microwave, oven, egg cooker, kettle and sandwich press.

United StatesNo stove tops in any kitchen and they're really poorly stocked (like I couldn't find a bowl or there was no pan to put into the oven). There's an outdoor area in the second floor, but this isn't really a great hostel for socializing and hanging out and meeting people. If you want a place to keep your things and are planning to be gone all day/you just want somewhere to sleep this hostel would be great. It's also right across the street from a grocery store. THE INTERNET WAS BAD. Lastly, I saw someone "cleaning" the bedding of a bed that someone left in my room by spraying the bedding with some kind of disinfectant spray. They didn't change the bedding beyond that. They did change the pillow case. Not really much of a luggage closet, they expect you to just keep your bags out in the open in the waiting room downstairs, so don't plan on leaving your luggage here for long. Guys at the desk say yes to everything even if they don't mean it (asked two separate times for a bottom bunk at my last booking, yes yes yes, and then found myself assigned a top bunk all alone in my room?). I mean these are a lot of criticisms, but it's good value for a place to sleep and I liked the privacy of the beds.
The beds and location make this hostel worth it. Also the restrooms are usually pretty clean and there's always toilet paper. Pro tip: take your shower on the 3rd floor you'll thank me later.

PortugalThe shower was nice, but there was no place to hold the clothes or to get dressed outside the shower. The people in reception didn’t speak good Portuguese or English.
The bunk beds were really nice with outlets, hooks and curtains, plus a locker next to the bed. A lock is necessary. The room could be a bit hot.

LithuaniaThe doors to the rooms had no locks and were open all the time, but I did not see anyone enter the room if they did not belong there. And there is usually someone at the reception, but the doors into hostel are left wide open. Despite this, I personally still felt safe.
Beds had curtains for privacy. Beds and lockers were spacious. Seemed pretty clean. There was a kitchen area with fridges and various appliances.

PortugalThey don’t provide a towel. You have to buy it for 2€. I think it should be included. They also have a place to store things inside the rooms. Staff asked me, "Don't you have your own lock with the keys? Then you need to buy it.” It’s funny. It's better to take those storage cabines out of there altogether if you don’t provide a keys. Overall was good. thanks.
Perfect location. Good value for money.
