Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only disappointment was the building works going on right next door which made it noisy at times, but that's not the fault of the village.
We had a lovely week here. Our apartment was spacious, clean and very well equipped with a comfortable bed, great shower room, lounge area and small kitchenette that had everything you needed. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we were made to feel very welcome by everyone. The restaurant was first class with top quality food and service. Breakfast was delicious every morning and the evening meals were superb. The gardens are relaxing, well maintained and pretty with all the pot plants everywhere. The location was perfect for us, as it's just a 10 minute walk onto the coastal board walk and 15 minutes to the old town. A nice residential area with a choice of beautiful beaches to walk to. Thank you for a lovely stay and we hope to return again one day.

United StatesHotel was on the pricy side. Far, hilly, difficult to get to with suitcases, so transfer from bus or airport should be included with cost. Hallway noise was an issue. Noisy electrical panel came and went, but maintenance quickly looked at it. Also shower used a LOT of water. Lagos is in a drought. A bit disrespectful to have such high water use while rest of area suffers.
Breakfast was amazing, rooms were clean, well appointed, hotel staff was very accommodating. Room was on the ground level but private. Pool was cold but staff was great about keeping it clean. Door to deck was the only light, and a motorized screen allowed for blackout sleeping and added safety.

United KingdomOne pool is next to a construction site, but there are two others.
Perfect location - walking distance to Lagos town center, beaches, and Ponta da Piedade. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Mine was in the main building and had a balcony. Breakfast buffet was good and dinner can be included with the room as well, plus snacks available next to the main pool all day.

CanadaMinor omplaints : TV channels are geared for German tourists, but who's really watching tv?? We had to purchase an umbrella for the sun and ended up leaving it there. Maybe it can be passed on to other guests. If the hotel has a few on hand to allow guests to borrow, this would be ideal since most people will not travel with them and have to purchase them in town. Beds were so comfy, and staff kept the rooms super clean. It might be nice to have a small broom or brush and dustpan for sand in the room, but the hotel cleaning staff are amazing... we are just a little picky about sand. Short walk and ride away from the main town.We felt like this locale was ideal for those who have a car. There are detours since construction is nearby, so watch for the mermaid and sun logo detour signs as your GPS might get it wrong when you first drive there. Grocery is nearby and amazing little pizza place 7 minute walk away and little mercados and places to have a drink in all directions. Nights were windy and cool, so bring a sweater or light jacket.
This facility is top notch from start to finish. From the moment you arrive, the staff greet you with a warm welcome and tell you about the area and what to see. It is so close to everything and the hotel restaurant is the best! Luis Miguel and Tarun are such awesome chefs and servers. Breakfast is also fantastic with tones of selection. Parking is right on the property, and you will literally be blown away by the view from the boardwalk. Make sure to do a boat tour or kayak tour to see the rock formations up close. Portugal and its people are some of the friendliest and joyful in the world. We couldn't ask for better on this, our 30th anniversary celebratory trip! Thank you so much! It was truly unforgettable, and we can not wait to return!

United KingdomThey have a wellness/fitness centre which is located in a separate building and they say they have massage available there but in fact it is not very convenient as arranging the massage as the person is not readily available.
I liked the Portuguese style village feel and the cool crisp bed sheets in the room during hot summer day at the beach was really nice to come back to after sightseeing! The waiting staff in the restaurant were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast variety was good!

United StatesThere was no coffee available although they supplied an old coffee maker and a Kettle. They had a lovely breakfast we paid for which did provide American coffee but they charged extra for a cappuccino or espresso. We traveled on this trip to different places and all hotels either provided an espresso machine and/or provided espresso or cappuccinos to their guests. Also, one of the reasons I booked this hotel was because of the spa services and access in the description, the day I went over, neither the sauna or the steam room was working which was a bit disappointing, but the pool was lovely so I was happy there
Beautiful location. We upgraded and loved our building and our pool

United KingdomThe swimming pools themselves were quite small, some of the levels of professionalism of staff occasionally were below expectations, in that a few times we had asked for ice buckets and staff wouldn't provide this.
They had a great breakfast selection, most of the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the rooms were very clean and it was quiet and peaceful: perfect for relaxing. It's close to the beaches and quite close to the town centre as well

United KingdomIt’s about a 20 minute walk into the centre of Lagos but we actually enjoyed our meander back after our evening meal.
Situated in a beautiful location, we stayed in a spacious room with its own private balcony. The room had all the amenities we needed and we enjoyed the modern walk-in shower. Breakfast was simply amazing and offered a very wide range of foods to cater to every taste and we were most impressed that on our day of departure we were offered a packed lunch as we were leaving before breakfast. Although close to beaches, there was a choice of 3 pools to pick from which we also made good use of - there was also a well equipped gym.
