The dining chairs need some repair. The sofa was very hard and not comfortable. The odour of wood smoke in the house took some getting used to. It was June and I didn’t use the fire. The church is close and the bell rang every hour even during the night. No convenient parking.

Clear instructions for self check in. Very clean and well presented. Upstairs and downstairs toilets. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Well maintained. Well equipped. Super comfortable bed. Good Wi-Fi. Great location for walking around the town and up to the castle. Close to a bar and restaurant. The bowl of fresh cherries and bottle of wine were thoughtful touches.

Google maps directed us directly to the property which we found there was no real parking there. It was narrow and difficult to get the car back out. Parking from the property is a quite a walk up steep cobbled street.

The property was unique and homely built into the side of a boulder. It was in walking distance to the town sites.

Amazing hobit home under the stones. Well equipped and close to The best castle in many miles. It was cool enough that after a major rain, I was able to keep the fire burning to dryout and be quite toasty.... thanks to our super host and his generous supply of seasoned cherry wood.

There were inaccurate messages from the host before we arrived. Had we known there were problems we could have delayed our arrival instead we had received a message stating the property was ready.

Fantastic location to explore Monsanto. Cozy cottage with some basic amenities. There were some problems with the property (caused by previous guests) that the host was rectifying when we arrived. He was very apologetic and managed to make the property suitable for our stay.

There was a minor plumbing issue with the second bathroom downstairs, so we just closed that area off.

Pleasantly surprised, lovely cottage with a functional kitchen. The wine, coffee pods, and complementary bottled water were gratefully received. Wifi worked well and watched a Netflix show on the smart TV in the evening.

The ignorance of the host, There was no key in the kebox for entry, They refused to answer a message, 2 emails sent via Booking.com and 26 phone calls that I have copy's of and the fact they have 153.90 euros of my money,

Nothing about Casttelo Cottages but the Monsanto Geo Hotel Escola we stopped we managed to get intol was excellent

We arrived on a rainy, foggy night and the house was so cozy, the fire was ready all we had to do was strike a match. The house had extra blankets, delicious bread and wine. We really enjoyed our time in Monsanto and would recommend it to everyone. The kids thought the entire village was magical.

The mattress of the bed was not confortable. We asked for an extra blanket and did not have any answer. The fridge did work, etc

The location was great! The cottage was private and cozy. The owner was very friendly, knowledgeable and interesting to speak with.

Probably we just had bad luck because the house/project was in a bad moment. The contact with the owner by phone was always very difficult (on the arrival and especially after leaving - just to ask for a simple invoice) and she was never polite and professional on the phone. The information about the conditions of access to the house is not clear and only in the moment of arrival is possible to understand that the car has to be parked very far away and that is not possible to just drop things ath the house and then park. The heat inside the house was intense, but it was probably just bad luck - in another season it might be more confortable -, the hygiene could be better, and we had the bad luck of having construction noise outside the house everyday.

All the village of Monsanto and the area is an amazing experience.
